  1. As I would like to use a smaller product than my Franklin pocket binder I am not considering a Filofax pocket binder or Flex pocket cover. The products are too short for a check, small envelope, currency, and other pieces of the same length. I suppose those that use the small binder or Flex cover fold those items or do not need them in the product. I do not fold them and require a cover with a tall pocket. The slim Flex tan cover of leather is tall enough but I did not favor the different color of the interior. I drew the dimensions of the options on the same page for a comparison and accommodation of necessary components. I also eliminated a cover with strings.

  2. I believe the pocket finsburies are fairly small but have a large backpocket.

    1. Hi TinaKaren. Thank you for the great recommendation. I will definitely view the item and availability.

    2. My post from 2012 shows how I used a Flex Slim as a wallet with UK bank notes unfolded. I currently use a Flex Pocket and bank notes folded once fit perfectly. Pocket size Filofaxes such as the Holborn have the full length back pocket that will carry all sizes of currency (and a cheque book if you still use one). However, they will of course get folded when your organiser is closed! Pocket Filofaxes are great but won't fit in trouser pockets! a Pocket Flex will!

    3. Hi Tim. Thank you for the link to your thorough post. Your Flex covers look great. It is useful to consider the required components and information for the product as you explained. Initially I was drawn to a Filofax pocket binder because of further convenience and portability but a tall pocket is necessary for those items. The long back pocket of the Holborn and Finsbury is fine but I must design a smaller version of my weekly insert with a diminished daily space for the Filofax pocket binder.

I have eliminated several choices and will probably decide soon. I prefer the size of the Filofax slim covers and my weekly format in a thin bound notebook. Then I can leave the Franklin pocket binder on a desk for another purpose.

  3. Having just shown my wife Steve's website with the photograph of all his Filofaxes, her only comment was "How many has he got?" Care to answer, Steve. Very impressive, nonetheless.

    1. About 58 Steve, but that photo isn't up to date, it was taken a couple of years ago, although the collection hasn't grown that much since then.

It takes quite a lot of work to get them all together to photograph them. The photograph is in fact 5 photographs joined together. The plain background gets moved between shots to make it appear like it stretches from one side to the other!

I bought the first one 30 years ago this year!
