As I inevitably work more with Machine Learning and AI I find I am using my Filofax increasingly in these circumstances. The reason for this is the increased processing power and volumes of data these systems are using. With generative AI it does what it says and generates so much new data that it is hard to keep up with. This leads to a problem of quality. I find myself creating quality checkpoints in order to make sure that the AI has actually kept within the bounds of what I have asked. Another challenge is keeping track of the conversation points.
ReplyDeleteIn this brave new world I have some new Filofax sections that are in frequent use all of which would have been unimaginable two years ago.
1. Useful Prompts
2. Conversation context points.
3. Data sample references (catalogue)
4. AI Personas - list
5. Lessons learnt
Does your Filofax use change in relation to the technology you use?
I tend to use my Filofax to get around the failures of the technology I use and it’s mainly diary management. I have what they now term a ‘portfolio career’ and work for three different organisations at present. I have an A5 Filofax for each so that there is no leakage of info from one to the other. The diaries of the companies plus my own personal calendar online don’t talk to each other so I use an A5 compact Heritage with week on two pages time management diaries for 2025 and 2026 as a central one version of the truth plus an annual planner for each year so I can see the bigger picture at a glance. There is a wonderful calming effect of opening the organiser and writing it down so it’s not a chore.
ReplyDelete"failures of the technology" perfectly sums up the use. I love the separate organiser for each client. Brilliant.
DeleteAnyone familiar with the Filofax 'Signature' organiser? Seems to have been intended for branded corporate use, and doesn't appear in any of the catalogues. Very smooth 'deluxe leather' throughout (barring pocket linings), six horizontal credit card slots & full elngth pocket in left, plus a lower, curved edge pocket, and notepad sleeve & pen loop in right. Square-ended, hidden popper strap. Embossed only as 'Filofax Personal Organiser Deluxe Leather'. Date coded 2008 (T).
