Hello Steve, Zsu here. I think we could all agree that the most durable planners are those that are made of leather. The leather ages and may show signs of tear and wear, but it can last for a long time, if provided with proper care. However, if one can't get their hands on a leather binder, what would be the next best option, in your opinion? Let's say, for someone who uses their planner extensively, travels with it, is going to get it in and out of bags and doesn't intend to baby it.

DeleteA very good question.
If you are prepared that you might have to replace your non-leather binder every few years or so then something like a 'Clipbook' might be a good substitute.
The purpose of the binder is to protect the pages, those are the valuable things that you are carrying. The binder itself is secondary in a way.
A leather binder, even a well used one doesn't take much 'care', yes if it is in and out of bags a lot it might look a little battle scared but it will be functional.
May be go for a cheaper pre-owned leather binder and give it some TLC every 6 months or so. Nothing extensive though.
