Didn't know it was a "Deskfax" as the binder itself only says "Filofax Professional Real Leather" but a quick search brought me here. It's a black leather one but looking at some of the models I really do like the brown leather ones more. Does the standard Portobello A5 have a clasp? I assumed the address book version has smaller rings, but having just measured it, they are also 19mm.Like you, I also seem to have a to do list at the weekend of Paul Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13834134905640040795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18497333.post-30814855526935467612014-06-24T00:21:04.758-04:002014-06-24T00:21:04.758-04:00https://www.flickr.com/photos/24766543@N07/https://www.flickr.com/photos/24766543@N07/Alan Marshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12163255067102493914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18497333.post-22026943773331637042014-06-24T00:20:53.212-04:002014-06-24T00:20:53.212-04:00Paul B: Here is a picture comparing my B5 Deskfax...Paul B: Here is a picture comparing my B5 Deskfax Kensington with my A5 Kensington.Alan Marshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12163255067102493914noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18497333.post-14652122266313666092014-06-23T11:10:43.406-04:002014-06-23T11:10:43.406-04:00Paul - my A5 Portobello is the 'real' filo...Paul - my A5 Portobello is the 'real' filofax, not the address book type. I've seen the address book version for sale on eBay, but didn't go for it. Mine is red (inside and out), appears to be made from Saffiano leather, and has a zipped pocket plus a slip pocket inside the front, plus 6 card slots and what appears to be a slot for a 3.5" floppy disk; inside the back cover Paul Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08853136637362400990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18497333.post-10929559074037982442014-06-23T09:38:57.033-04:002014-06-23T09:38:57.033-04:00I would not be surprised. It´s just 6 cm´s taller but the papersize is twice as large, in comparison to A5. I did the game of numbers when I was considering the size of a notebook to use. Given that my A4 is a bound notebook, but I must admit that the idea of a vintage deskfax makes my Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10372857105865178375noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18497333.post-37412109250026178012014-06-23T08:28:57.969-04:002014-06-23T08:28:57.969-04:00Alan, could you post a link to the comparison? The difference between the Portobello A5 and the Durham A5 Zip, for example, is pretty big. i did, however, think the Mulberry A6 was a pretty useful size, it just didn't seem to catch on in popularity. I have a friend who also wants one, so if you ever decide to part with it, please let me know. I have just bought 3 packs of Tomoe River Da Vinci A5 paper for it, and it is just amazing. So light and thin, yet takes a fountain pen. I'm already an A5 user - a Portobello, which has 19mm rings so isn't *quite* as bulky as some - but I don't use any branded inserts preferring to punch Rhodia paper (inveterate fountain pen user here!) so the punch conundrum is a definite turnoff.
