    1. Sorry for the delay in replying, I was rolling on the floor laughing.........

Seriously, though, things *may* have changed a *bit* in the last year, and I thing 'certain' customers have the ear of the Filofax UK management (right Steve?!), but generally, let's face it, their track record over the past couple of years (let's call them The Presley years) isn't that great, is it?

    2. Things have changed considerably in this last year, there is no longer this 'Us' and 'Them' The welcome we got at their Burgess Hill Office three weeks ago was quite some thing to see. Up to that point only a few of us had met a small team at Filofax.

The meet up expanded that to something like 18 of us and a lot more of the Filofax team.

Another small group of us is meeting with some more Filofax people up in Scotland next week, so they will get to know some more of us.

The awareness of Philofaxy and the active community we have goes right to the top of the company.

In terms of accepting suggestions, of course they are always welcome.

    3. That sounds like a definite culture change from the good old days of Slam PR. Do you think that in terms of corporate culture, Filofax still see their primary market as fashionistas who 'like to take notes'. or do you think they are re-focusing on Filofax as a personal organisational *tool* which also looks good?

I know how much work you have put in over the past year or so to build bridges, so I'd be interested to know if that message is getting across. If not I think Filofax are missing a major trick, potentially of great benefit to their business......I'd like very much to see Filofax as the premier organisational tool available. Yes - missing out the word 'analogue' was quite deliberate, because I still believe a ring bound organiser beats a gadget every time!

    4. Funny enough, I e-mailed Filofax UK over a week ago with a product query and so far, no response. Maybe they forgot to note it down in their organiser as a "To-do". Lol

  3. Personally I don´t care if they market the brand to the man on the moon, I just want to know when the rings are going to stop being so endlessly sucky.

    1. Improving the quality of the product would certainly help. One would think that by now, with the human race's ability to learn from the lessons of outsourcing to third world countries where a crap job can be done on anything at a great price, that all this would be behind us.

Right, I'm off to call Mumbai about my phone bills again........

    2. Oh,how I wish I could beam be up there to give a lecture of proper PR. BUT, on a lighter note...
I have found a fabulous man! Not sure if this link is legitimate here but it does say free-for-all right?

At 5.32 he starts about scheduled increments. Wonderful insight of time management and making plans and goals. And the rest of it is just as golden.

  4. I currently have three Filofax but use none to their full. A slimline personal Guildford, a pocket Finsbury and a lizard print Flex. The Finsbury is only recently trained to lie flat(ish)! I really fancy a pocket or compact plum Osterley, but does anyone know if they lie flat from the box? They look a bit stiff to me.

  5. I have personal Osterley in Plum and I just love it. It lies flat right out of the box. The leather is stiff but I prefer it that way as it doesn't scratch easily and easier to write on when it's on my lap. If you use the pockets in the flaps there's a downside. They are quite tight and I struggle a bit to get things in an out. But I don't use them much since I have a separate wallet.

    1. Thanks for that. The leather does look substantial which is why I didn't think it would lie properly flat, but now i know!

  6. Does anyone know what is going on the Canadian Filofax site? I haven't seen it work in a long time. I am in the U.S. but was curious what was going on with Filofax Canada?

    1. I thought the US and canada share the same site...?

  7. Thanks for replying kanalt. Maybe they do. I haven't been able to get on the Filofax USA site today, but I thought they listed Canada on the website for the USA. When I clicked on Canada, nothing loaded.

    1. The Filofax Canada web pages were part of lettscanada.com. That website closed down earlier in the year, being merged into lettsusa.com. I don't think there are any plans to reintroduce a dedicated Canadian site for Filofax.

    2. The FF USA site is used for Canadians too. We get free shipping for $35. Letts use to be the distributor I think, but they are no longer distributing FF in Canada. My local paper store told me that it all comes from the USA now.
