Tuesdays are your chance to ask any Filofax related questions you might have.
So fire away and we will collectively try to answer your questions or offer opinions.
I have a question... Which organiser (make and model) would you like to receive on Christmas Day and why?
Hi Steve... I'm hoping for a Pink Fluro Original personal size. I had the pink in an A5 and traded it for a personal Patent Purple Original. Still have the A5 in the Orange Original but really think I am leaning for the personals again. My A5 will be what I MUST have for my financial planner though. :-) Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone. Well I'm going to continue on this purplish theme, but I also want advice from you all. My Christmas wish would be a plum compact Osterley. BUT! Is it masculine or feminie? Be honest. Also, have Filofax announced their 2014 range of binders, and if so is it on here somewhere? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have two pockets and an A5. I would love to have a personal. Preferably an ochre Malden, but honestly, I'm not choosy as there are many I haven't seen in person. I would just enjoy a personal sized model Filofax to join my A5 and pockets. I happen to know it's not on Santas list though. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteI would love to get a purple A5 Malden but the likelyhood of getting one is almost non-existant. I did treat myself to a black A5 Fusion though and like that one a lot. It's perfect for work-related things and while I intend to keep it ony my desk, it does look elegant yet sturdy enough that I could take it with me to clients and such.
ReplyDeleteI was hunting down a personal piazza blue for my wife, but got her an A5 instead. Here’s my question; What are the best places to get her some accessories like hole puncher, that nice and handy paper cutter board in blue, and other tools you guys and gals would recommend to give her for her Filo? please let me know what would you recommend. And what are the names for the tools so I can search some more I don’t have a great local filo store to get much accessories. Thanks And God Bless…
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great to have all your contacts and addresses written down in one place? A place that did not need to be recharged? A place that could be updated easily? One that would be accessible even if your phone was out of commission? What if someone else(like your spouse) did the work of the setting it up?
ReplyDeleteShh! I am making a personal size version of our address book/contacts list in a red Metropol. It is a gift for my husband. (Thus, all the RED) This, I hope, will combine all the old Christmas card lists, cell phone contacts, random appointment cards, phone numbers written on the wall calendar, old bills (how would I know the dishwasher repairman's number without keeping the last bill in a drawer?), and the actual "address lists" we have gathered over the years. I am also updating the electronic contacts-we have them set up to "sync" across all the family devices.
I think I'll be printing on one side- with just lines on the opposite page- to allow for changes on the fly. It will be easier for printing as well.
As the Metropol has been an "insert storage binder"-this is more of a TIME gift than a material one.
For me? Chili Cuban A5. My son is interested in a Filofax with a theme of American Football-pigskin with laces...I entertain no hopes of that at all.
I just found filofax on the web and trying to figure things out before I make my first purchase. I know I want to things in the filofax I buy those two things are 1.) that it will be able to hold my iPhone and 2.) it has to be BLUE. Can you help me and tell me what model I should be looking for and tell me PLEASE that a blue is available. TIA Diane

DeleteOh Diane the blues... are hard to come by, UK has maybe a few. The US Filofax barely has anything available till Feb.. so if blue is your color the UK has a calypso A5 and in blue not aqua but regular Crayola blue LOL.... and any other country that might show something like Japan.. they don’t have anything in stock. As for holding your iPhone I personally would not carry my phone in my Filofax. I would say check out mypurpleylife’s videos and others on this site for some good ideas to carry your phone with your filo.
DeleteCheck out Ebay. There is a seller in Belgium with amazing listings of New Old Stock Filos. I just scored a Blue Pimlico and a Blue Piccadilly!

DeleteThe A5 Fusion is available in blue and it comes with a pocket that supposedly is designed to hold a smartphone. I don't intend to use it for that but maybe this is an option for you?
DeleteDo a search for the seller "bouteia" on eBay and you will find amazing NOS filos - not bargains - but still . . .
DeleteI have the planner I want--my Franklin Covey Classic fits my needs very well--but I would like to be inundated in inserts/forms for Christmas. I'm scanning the thrift shops to find old forms that are no longer made, and sometimes I hit the mother lode. More of that!
ReplyDeleteYummy Yuletide under the tree gift for me? crimson personal Malden
ReplyDeleteOld School Maldens.....why oh why does Filofax not continue on with colors that work, especially in the Malden line ? I know many of us want to see FF expand with different designs themes, and colors but with the Malden, especially the Black Malden...why stop making such an awesome product ? I'm late to the table on the Malden (especially trying to find a Black A5 Malden...help!), but I think FF marketing could/should/would (lol!) see the profit go up up if they again offered the Malden in Black again ? Or is it that I just cannot find the A5 Malden in Black stateside? I did get lucky on a personal size Black Malden on the FF USA site recently, but alas that A5 size...where are you and why are you so hard to find ? Thoughts anyone ?
ReplyDeleteThey never made the A5 Malden in Black or Crimson. These were '1st year colours' which only came out in Personal and Pocket
DeleteReally ? Wow! See Steve how out of the Filo loop I am on things Malden! - I'd no idea...no wonder I'm still hunting the elusive Malden lol! Thank you for the heads up....i still wish they were out there for me to get my hands on one !
DeleteNot really a question but I do want to say a big THANK YOU to Steve and Ray for their work and generosity in offering the free diary inserts. All through this year I have been changing and re-changing my set up to match my needs and all this without feeling confined or discouraged or financially broke by the limited choice offered by the store-bought inserts. If I do get a planner fail, I just re-evaluate my setup and change it at the drop of a hat to better my needs. I’m happy to say I am well equipped for 2014 for now with the assurance that if my needs do change (and they will) I have this great site and ‘My Life all in one Place’ blog to fall back on. Thanks guys and thanks for the patience when I had difficulties with the files!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to second that.......Steve and Ray, thanks for all the hard work you put into this - it's much appreciated.
DeleteA newbie here:) just got my first Filofax or will have at Yule;) a5, and a personal.i am looking for insert ideas and hints tips thank you:)
ReplyDeleteAn A5 Malden in Ochre. {sigh}
ReplyDeleteWould love to see an A5 Malden in Antique Rose under my christmas tree....even though I will have to buy it myself...but I haven't see one on sale recently ... I will just have to dream on.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a Personal Malden in ochre or a Personal Holborn in brown. The colours are delicious!
