One thing?

What is the one thing that would improve your favourite Filofax organiser?

Or the one thing you would like to have in your organiser that would make you use it even more than you do now?

Answers in the comments please....

  1. Easy. Bigger rings! I'm in love with my A5 Ochre Malden but could always use more ring space.

  2. I wish the new patent domino came with the same card slots as the older domino! I'd be on that like white on rice! ;)

  3. pen loop that will hold a typical sized pen.

  4. Definitely bigger rings for Pocket, Personal and A5 (not sure about other sizes as these are the only ones I use).

  5. Bigger rings! Minimum 30mm on Personal, 35mm+ on A5. I'm moving back to Franklin Covey binders because Filofax organizers, while beautiful, are too small. Function first!!

  6. Comme beaucoup, j'aimerai des anneaux de 30mm. Excellente journée. - traduction: As many, I shall like rings of 30mm. Excellent day.

  7. I agree with the ring space: the one day per page diary looks huge on my Personal.

  8. Bigger rings.

  9. I thought I wanted bigger rings on a personal and have been looking out for an affordable Cavendish (was using a Guildford zip but wasn't really in love with it because of the zip) , but I have recently succumbed to the gorgeousness of a personal ochre Malden and have had to downsize a little. What I have realised is that I wasn't actually being efficient and I now prefer my more streamlined organiser. The one thing my Malden needs for me is another pen loop and for them to be a bit stiffer - I have four pens and I hook them over rather than through which is a little bit of a fiddle because the loop is so soft.

If my husband was answering this he would say that he wants an A5, like his current Aston or a Malden but with 20mm rings or even smaller.

  10. Definitely larger rings. I would love to see Filofax offer a couple of binders with at least 1.25 inch or 1.50 inch rings in the Personal size.

  11. Larger rings and more space to write, I use a personal sized, more pen loops

  12. Bigger penloops! And bigger rings in A5. I have a Finsbury rasberry, love it. But I write a lot and now it's really stuffed and it's 9 month left on this year!

  13. In general terms, bigger penloops - enough for a larger multipen such as the coleto or frixion, and slimline pocket binders (11mm) but with clasps. On specifics, and something I would love, a pocket holborn without the back wallet pocket, and a reintroduced pocket luxe in bright magenta!

  14. Replaceable rings, please!

  15. For me: a full width outer pocket at the back of the "full capacity" personal sized FF, 30mm Rings and two pen loops please. For the "streamline" personal sized FF, 20mm Rings, one pen loop, one outer zip pocket on the back (like the Cavendish), inside pockets like the Regency personal. - that would give super flexibility for both user types, as cross-reference/detailed planning FF or the handy organiser-purse combination. I would have use for both.

  16. Those good rings they used back in the days (these days the Malden A5 can´t be used as planner due to gappy rings) and also stitching that doesn´t become undone. Better quality, in short. Also I´d love a full length pocket as I have on my old Balmoral A5. I do love the brown leather on A5 Maldem, it´s just such a shame it´s so poorly done.

  17. Definitely increase the rings

  18. I have no complaints.

  19. Better durability, for both the rings and the cover!

  20. I'd love to see a return to the old style rings instead of the riveted kind.
Back pocket as well as notepad slot would be a big plus.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wider rings that are solid-no gaps, such as those by Krause. I would also like to see a better quality paper.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Definitel larger rings in the personal size!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Bigger and higher quality rings.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Two elasticized pen loops. And perhaps a line of higher-end binders that isn't so much about fashion/look but customizability. Maybe not as custom as van Der Spek, but ring size and pocket configuration.

  25. Bigger rings. I'm a one or two page per day girl, but my planner isn't only my diary/calendar planner type thing, it's also a blog planner, story planner (I'm a writer), organising event type stuff planner, and more. I download not-current stuff to a storage binder, but I'm still constantly struggling against the just-a-little-too-full. I can't run more than one main binder because things get neglected.

I love my vintage filos, but ended up with a boring brown Franklin Quest compact because of the huge rings, and it turned out to be my personal size holy grail. Then I picked up a classic, but it was a newer one with 28mm rings. Now I'm eyeing a very unattractive older FC classic, because of the massive rings. It would be nice to be able to keep more than a weeks diary and a few sheets of spare paper in my main binder! Yeah, bigger binders are less portable, but my main binder stays at home anyway, so it's really not an issue for me.

I'd love a beautiful filofax with big rings *sigh*

  26. Better quality and bigger rings in A5, and a good quality inner ring protector, to avoid ring dents on the inner binder leather.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Can't just give one, sorry. Both bigger rings and 2 elastic pen holders--not on the inside cover like the Originals.

  28. A Malden with the same internal layout - I love the jot pad at the back - but with a full width pocket on the back, like the pocket version, and in more cheerful colours. I tried to get an Aqua one but they were gone in the blink of an eye and don't seem to be coming back? I have a pen loop on a removeable card inside the binder.

    1. i second that emotion! Malden with back pocket - then I'd be complete :)!

    2. agreed. The Malden is obviously a CROWD FAVORITE. MORE COLORS/options !!!

  29. i prefer the number 3.

    1. i really would like better penloop function (currently using flex, which is nice, but it's true of any organiser). While I prefer thin pens, many are too thick for the loops, or the loops over stretch and other pens slip straight through.
    2. i still dream of a the thin A5 of my dreams that handles all types of punched paper automagically (6 to 20 hole)
    3. while i'm at it, my dream slim multifunction pen: .5 pen, pencil, and a decent highlighter. i'm tired of having to carry 2+ writing instruments.

  30. 1. old school quality, 2. replacable/higher quality rings, 3. all models having partially elasticized pen loops to accommodate fatter pens, 4. better quality paper for the inserts, 5. MONTHLY TABS

    ReplyDelete
  31. Better quality control - it really baffles me why a respectable old company like Filofax will send out a defective product. More colors!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd like bigger rings (30mm) for personal size

    ReplyDelete
  33. Two things: bigger rings in personal size and more outer pockets (opened and zipped) like the Cavendish. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think larger rings would make them weird... I second more colors options!

    ReplyDelete
  35. A size in between Personal and A5. Pages of 122 x 174mm for instance.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I definitely second this

  36. Two pen loops on every model, elasticized, and I'm with Groucho, 30mm rings on all the Personal models.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Larger, replaceable rings. Better pen loop options on the Original. Maybe leather ring guards like on the Ostrich. Paper with quality like Clairefontaine. More blue planners. Thicker plastic inserts like the Franklin Covey black plastic inserts. I know you can make your own now, but I loved the specialized inserts like the books, onion paper inserts, and the Learn Spanish.

  38. A true A6 paper size model would be great ...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Better paper quality (the quality on the notepads is okay; could they use this for the diary inserts??)
Either a full-width pocket (but the planner still has to lay flat as a bat) or an outward facing inside pocket like on the Holborns, but in my beloved Baroque instead.

  40. Rings that can easily be switched out/replaced. Maybe an interchangeable ring system so folks who wanted smaller could buy smaller and folks who wanted larger could buy larger. The complete Malden line sold in the States.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Replaceable larger rings, please. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Rings that are not defective - seems like a reasonable request for the price.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Being able to adjust your inserts on purchase instead of wasting so much paper.

    ReplyDelete
  44. LARGER RINGS on Personal sized, and even on A5. Adjustable/partly elasticized pen loops. Exterior Pockets and/or full length outer pockets like Balmoral had. If the Ring mechanisms could be replaced that would be a better investment. Sadly other planner companies are listening to the needs of customers and allowing some customization.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I wish you could have an option of no inserts that would be awesome

    ReplyDelete
  46. Bigger rings, two pen loops, and thick, sturdy, natural leather like the Original.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Elasticised pen loops and the return of the Cavendish and it's functinality/design. Please. :)

Oh, and better quality rings that are replaceable.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Unbreakable ring mechanisms!! :)

  49. I want pages other than diaries. Moleskine do journals for books/recipes/music lovers. I'd love something similar. I have emailed Filofax a couple of times to suggest it.

  50. I must be the only one - but I want smaller rings on my Adelphi Personal.

It's the only one of my Adelphi's that hasn't left the house this year because it's SO bulky (even with nothing in it) and I'm worried about damaging the rings or the leather if I lug it about half full. Currently it's holding all my year to come diaries and spare paper for my Adelphi slimline and just sits on my desk at home.

I swear, it's more of a desk filo that the A5...

But other than that, a better looking filo in red. :-P So far I've been really unimpressed with the filos released the last year or two, maybe it's the studio photos, but they look so uninspiring.

  51. I own a Daytimer Desk Size Armorhide Cowhide Zip Binder with 50.80mm rings. I just treasure it because of its heavy-duty capacity. I can stuff whatever, whenever. I couldn't find an equal from the Filofax line. This is why I couldn't relocate much of my stuff to my Filofaxes. If I would choose to pick just one binder, I'd stick to my 50.80mm rings. But, I just love the red colors of my Filofaxes. I wish Filofax creates monster heavy-duty giant rings. :-)

  52. A sleek, slim, classy, leather A5 - max 15mm Krause quality rings - with lots of useful pockets but no foam or card padding - that could be to used alongside an iPad or other tablet.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would like a soft leather version of the Ranger or more models with a zip pocket on the back like the Cavendish. I would love the Cavendish design in compact ring size and personal size with standard rings. Would like to see another layout like the Enigma with that wallet/flap pocket in back. Any of these designs would work for me.

    1. I'd love a leather Ranger too. I have the Pocket and Personal size as purses, with a diary and notes on the rings. It's my always with me Filo, although I have larger Filos, both A5and Deskfax.

  54. Better quality - it's ridiculous to receive so often product that has issues with leather or contents. More colors and models with Malden series - and bigger batches, so they don't run out so soon!

  55. And a full width pocket on the A5 Malden.

  56. Better selection for the United States.
