  1. For those who use A5s, how do archive your pages?

    Thanks.

    1. I put a tag through a couple of the holes to hold them together and then file them in a slim box binder, it's big enough to take A4, so it takes two stacks of A5 easily.

    2. Treasury tags, as per Steve's solution, then file the bundles in a suspension file in my main filing system.

  2. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do with a detached strap closure? The strap cracked and broke in half (owing to age and probably not being used) and I am left with a 2cm stub of leather sewn into the back cover, and half a press stud on the front cover!

I am happy to experiment. I only paid £5 for it on Ebay so if I try something and end up ruining the planner beyond repair, then I'm not so out of pocket! On the other hand, I might end up with something unique and lovely.

I've Googled Filo hacks, but there's nothing that helps, so it's over to you guys ...

    1. What model is it? I would be tempted to remove what is left of the strap, and may be put some elastic on the organiser like the Domino or the other models that don't have a clasp closure.

Or take it to a shoe repair shop and see if they can make you a new strap and fit it in place of the existing one.

    2. It is a personal Microfile, an impulse Ebay purchase! It arrived in a state of repair slightly not as advertised ... had the seller included a photo of the back, the damage would have been very apparent - the strap is literally clinging on by one thread! I had thought about doing something similar to a Domino, maybe with a nice wide eleastic. I hadn't considered speaking to my local cobbler though, that might be interesting to explore

  3. Are there any reviews of the multi-fit punch by Filofax (on German FF site - http://www.filofax.de/locher-metall-multi-fit.html )? Or any personal experience with it?

    1. Hi Helen, as I posess the same model punch from Chronoplan I can only say it is not worth the price. The stamps need to be newly adjusted every time you open the cover for emptying out the paper waste. It's leverage is only strong enough to punch max 5 sheets of paper at once despite the fact that you can place 10 sheets in the punch. The 6 stamps get loose with the opening need to be newly adjusted one by one. Not efficient but fiddly and annoying when you punch a lot sheets or different sized sheeds.

    4. sheets".. so I can't recommend to go for this one. The adjustable punch from time System is more solid, you can punch A5, personal, pocket and mini and the stamps are arranged in two groups of three stamps - so that the adjustment for another size can easily be handled. That's my recommendation for a multiple Filofax-punch.

  4. okay, I looked it up for you assuming that you might be located in the UK. So here would be the appropriate link: http://www.timesystem.co.uk/index.php?page=2&act=search&pr=punch&co=
where you could order the time system hole punch - getting the price in pound and I bet a shipping option to the UK too :-)

    1. Hi Suzanne, I have deleted your comment as requested. In case you don't know me, I write on this blog and also on Plannerisms.com (all about planners of all kinds). For a very busy schedule like yours with lots of things to track, I would recommend an A5 size Filofax (if you are in Uk/ Europe) or a Classic size Franklin Covey (if you are in the US) because these pages are the local standard size page cut in half. It sounds like you would be best off creating and printing your own daily pages with everyone's meds and all recurring daily events already on the page to avoid re-writing everything. Your daily pages will have lots of room to plan and record everything, and the standard page size means you can shrink and print standard pages, or fold them in half and put them right in your binder. Patty at HomemakersDaily.com creates and prints her own pages, go here and scroll down to Custom Planning Pages: http://homemakersdaily.com/time-management/ You can ask her questions about creating pages, she is very nice and I know she will be happy to help you!

I really think you should keep everything together in one big binder so you have everything you need at all times, and so nothing slips through the cracks or gets forgotten. Feel free to email me if you want, Laurie at Plannerisms dot com. :)
