  1. Morning, all. Do any of the UK readership know of any UK stockists of Da Vinci paper? The only source I found was Amazon, which only seems to carry the Pocket size, and I'm interested in Personal and A5 size. Thanks.

    1. Hi Paul,

I emailed Kyotoite, one of the distributors of DaVinci binders on Amazon, to ask if they would import the refills. They are based in Kyoto, Japan so should have ready access to supplies. They responded immediately and I have sent them the link to Jetpens US and RayMay Japan websites to figure out the product codes. Fingers crossed we may have a UK importer soon.

I also emailed http://www.directfromjapan.co.uk/ an offshoot from the Japan Shop in London to see if they would be willing to import it. I'm waiting for their response. It would be great to pop into a store and pick up a few packs.

    2. Keep me in the loop please? There are some interesting pics of what appear to be DPP dated pages from Japan on the Davinci Flickr group.......

  3. What is a good way to search for the name of a vintage Filofax when you don't know what the model is? Searching under "vintage" is a little bit taxing-thank you!

    1. Not all of the older ones had names stamped in them. Share a photo and we might be able to identify it that way.

  5. I trimmed and punched about 100 sheets of lined notebook paper to A5 size. The paper is thin but is okay for what I need. I wonder if A5 paper is easily accessible in stores in the U.S. because I have not yet looked for it. I also wanted to use my Kate Spade dividers with printed tabs in my compact Luxe. However I did not need some sections. I trimmed all the names off and now have dividers with short blank tabs. Surprisingly they look fine and I am keeping them blank. For some reason printing the names on the tabs looks better than printing them on labels. It is a bit satisfying to use items that I already have as opposed to buying more stuff. I don't like shopping for planners and stationery items. I know my view is unpopular. My idea of clipping two pens to my pen loop was functional but caused marks on the leather. I also tried to clip a pen on the elastic portion and the clip went through the material. So I bought a Daytimer adhesive pen loop and clipped my pen to it. The loop is too big for slim pens and too small for wide ones.

  6. I just got my Malden in A5. It it absolutely wonderful but....

I was under the impression that Maldens do have a pocket behind the cover, double-width one. I was a bit dissapointed to see that mine doesnt have anything like that. Is that a feature of small sized maldens? Or has anything changed? Mine is from ebay, its got 2014 insert so I imagine its not that old but have no clue really..

    1. The pocket behind the cover is on the pocket Malden. I've got a pocket and a personal, it's not on the personal or the a5.

  7. What do others do about pens to accompany their planners? I have a circa 1984 LeFax, and the leather pen holder is in the (horizontal) middle of the flap. It is too loose to hold a pen or pencil without a clip, but placed too low to allow the pen or pencil to clip on. (the pen would then hang below the bottom of the planner. Is this just a problem with my LeFax, or are other models manufactured this way? i.e., is it a design fault that I will continue to have to put up with, or has someone found a perfect solution. I prefer mechanical pencils over pens.
