  1. Do you have a favourite organiser you keep coming back to? I swap mine around quite a bit just to try different ones out, but I keep moving back in to my Cavendish a lot at the moment, big rings and great leather and a good pocket layout for me are the winners.

    1. One of my Baroques - more often the turquoise than the pink. Colour pop, near-perfect interior layout, floppy and beautiful. I may spend time in others but I come back to those more than any other binder I have.

    2. When it comes to my main planner, I keep coming back to my personal Malden in ochre. It's the soft leather that appeals to me, as well as the pockets even though I don't use them that much. I have tried a couple of other organizers, but didn't bond with them as much. The only ones that got to stay are my Kate Spade in black (to switch around if I feel like it) and an old Puccini organizer that used to belong to my mother (going to try it as my journal).

  3. I go through periods of moving things around but I think I've found my match with a Personal Holborn. A new colour might make me swap it, but it's pretty much answered all my reasons to change. Because of the 'filoinfatuation' I occasionally pull out the Malden and play with other set ups but they rarely get to the 'transfer the Holborn stage'. Perhaps I'm a creature of habit since I always went back to my A5 Finchley every time too, but that was before I succumbed to the Personal size (a bit of a compromise I must admit, but the Holborn seems to make it work for some reason ;)

  4. I admit, I switch binders a lot. Mostly between my black Kate Spade, FF Saffiano, and my FC Compact Boston. I'm most often in the Boston. The extra width and 2 penloops have spoiled me.

  5. Can I ask a different question? I've read the reviews on this site of the various holepunches you can get to get properly spaced holes in filofax paper. Are they easy to use (I'm comparing here to faffing around with a regular holepunch / cropodile to get the holes in the right places) or are they a pain to set up for the different sizes of paper? Thanks in advance, Rachel

    1. Hi Rachel
Yes each of the punches I've reviewed here: http://philofaxy.blogspot.com/2013/01/filofax-punches.html have 'detents' so when you slide the punch blocks there are pre-set positions that you will feel click as you move from one setting to the next.
With the Rapesco punch which is a very popular one. It can do Pocket, A6 and Personal. Pocket with the two punch blocks on their inner setting. and Personal with them to their outer setting. The A6/Mulberry setting which you might not use comes half way between the two extremes, but there is there is a detent you will click through to set it to that setting.
This punch can also do Mini with it set to Pocket and only punching with 5 of the punches to match Mini rather than 6 for Pocket.

The KW Trio, has a similar set up, but it is a bigger punch and it can do A5, Personal, A6, Pocket/Mini again similar to the Rapseco in the way it works, it just has the additional A5 setting.

  6. Can I just make people aware that there are still places available on the London Meet Up on 16 May 2015 details here: http://philofaxy.blogspot.com/2015/03/philofaxy-meet-up-london-16-may-2015.html

  7. I'm really happy with my hybrid Holborn-deringed-bound planner, so now I guess I should think about the next step- do I de-ring my personal Ochre Malden?? :b

  8. I have a question to put out there to the women who use this site.
We all know that we change bags to match the occasion. The bag we use going to work is not the one we use when going out for example.

Do any women out there change binders from time to time to match their mood or the occasion?
By this I mean, do you have one you use during the week and then swap out everything into another one you keep for weekends?

Or is that a strange thing that nobody does and I'm really just looking for a reason to buy a new pretty binder to use whilst at the same time keeping my study reliable black leather Finsbury?

    1. I'm definitely in that group. There's the everyday binder, one for weekend jaunts, and one for when I'm trying to convince myself that I'm a big girl.
