Due to some on-going illness and injury (nothing serious luckily), I've found that recently I just don't have the energy to get the stuff done that I normally would. It would be very easy for me not to use my Filofax, but I've found that in the past this just makes me feel worse and it's harder to catch up when I am back to 100%.
Right now, I'm barely using my normal sections, but I have a master list right at the front and am using this to help me prioritise from everything else. It occurred to me that whilst I'm still recovering, this gives me a better sense of where to start in my backlog and helps prevent me from feeling overwhelmed.
Do you use a simplified version of your set up in a similar way, or is it just easy to adapt it to your energy levels or commitments?
And as always on Fridays, please feel free to discuss anything ring-binder related.
Have a great weekend.
Hi Anita, I'm sorry to hear you've not been feeling well and I hope you are back to your usual self soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post and I'll be really curious to read people's replies. When I'm not at 100% I just have to get ruthless about what needs to be done and what can be shoved off until later. I use the Philofaxy printable month on two pages with notes, so the back sides of the months are lined. I write non-urgent lists there. That way I see they need to be done sometime that month, whenever I get a chance to do them. Day to day I have to keep up on the laundry and the dishes, keep everyone fed and get my kids to their activities on time. Everything else can get pushed off until I'm able to deal with it.
Hi, I hope you start feeling better soon. When I'm sick or feeling off, only the bare necessities get done. However, this is graduation weekend, so I'm only taking along my new little Pocket binder. We'll see how that goes.

ReplyDeleteThe past two weeks have been crazy busy and I, too, have written precious little in my A5. My pocket is completely blank except for the pre-written birthdays, holidays, and standing appointments. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteNow, I'm dredging trying to figure out what I did during those days and filling in the blanks in both planners. I hate flipping back through my planners and seeing almost blank pages. So, I've got to just sit myself down and do it. Exciting Saturday morning ahead of me. Maybe I'll do it while waiting to get my car's oil changed - bulging pen case and colorful post it notes and all.
Hope you feel better soon, Anita!
Best wishes to you, Anita, for a fully and speedy recovery....
ReplyDeleteIn meantime, keep on Philofaxin'.......

Those days are not fun. I think that my insert is accommodating for those times because it is flexible. I would have less to write on the pages if my energy level is low but I would not use print outs or other pieces of paper in lieu of it. I want to keep everything streamlined and plain. I removed the decorative front cover in my binder and replaced it with a sheet of note paper.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not 100%. I hope you feel better soon
ReplyDeleteWhen I don't I don't feel well, one of the things that DOES make me feel better is by making a note of what's wrong--did a migraine kick my butt? Was something going on the family that emotionally drained me and I just couldn't get to anything else? It's a good reminder for me when I flip back through and go, "Why am I so behind" that yes, I'm human, and sometimes I have to take time to heal and rest, even if it means putting off stuff that needs to be done. A lot of stuff can wait.
