I got my first Filofax when my parents gave me a gift certificate to a clothing store one Christmas. Instead of buying clothes, I bought a Filofax and some inserts. I could have gotten a few pieces of clothing for the cost of that one organizer, but I couldn't resist!
Have you ever been given a Filofax as a gift? Or cashed in a gift to get what you really wanted—a Filofax, of course!
I very much like your story and yes I have been given filofaxes as gifts. I like all of my filofaxes but was very touched to be bought a VDS custom. I am about to be bought some mechanical pencils to match some of them - exciting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice story Nan and always something to remember. I had been a Filofax user for a very long time before I ever received as a gift and that would be from my boyfriend. The first filo he bought me for Christmas was a Mustard A5 Finchley. Of course with his witty charm he first made me open a "hint" gift which was a bottle of mustard!
ReplyDeleteI've had to buy said gifts myself. My first was a "Honey, look what you got me for Christmas." My absolute favorite was a gift to myself. I found a 1988 or '89 Pocket, with nice tight rings, for $1 at a thrift shop. I treasure that little thing.
