Free for All Friday No. 525 by Nan

Do you use an organizer from your country of origin, or one that's imported or even in a different language?

Why? Have you found a certain format or paper quality that's not available locally?

What's the furthest away you've ever gotten an organizer from?

And as always on Fridays, feel free to discuss anything ring binder organizer related!

  1. I am a fan of the Deskfax size, and, because it has almost been abandoned by Filofax, I end up buying a lot of paper from Japan. It is possibly the only place that routinely uses B5 paper!

I recently bouoght some Tomoe River paper from Japan (via Amazon) and it is the best paper I have ever used... Bible-thin paper, with no bleed-through from an ink pen, and it runs in my printer perfectly.

  2. After going through about every system and planner over the decades, I have settled into a Hobonichi A5 for my main planner, their A6 for my carry/work planner and their 'weeks' for financial tracking. This will be my 3rd year using them and I love them. All the way from Japan to the U.S. But there is always a part of me which would like to be in a ring system to add things easily, but the Hobonichi is working for me.

  3. In the past 10 years or so, have used Franklin Covey Classic from here in US, then moved to Filofax A5 imported to US, then back to Franklin Covey Classic, then back to Filofax in various sizes, then back to Franklin Covey Compact, then back to A5, but van der Spek (imported of course to US...)....which is where I've stayed this year....and hope to be in 2019... ;-)

  4. The furthest away I bought a filo from was my personal blue Tejus from New Zealand. In 2 weeks it safely crossed the globe to arrive at my home in the UK. Second-furthest was a Dorchester from Canada. Happily I wasn't zinged for import tax either time!
