I am sure I once saw miniature Filofax books as key chain charms, Or was it just a dream?
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was an advertising gimmick which reminds me to ask why there are so few old Ff press adverts on the internet … did/do they just not bother?
Would the 100th birthday be a great opportunity to launch a book featuring Ff PEOPLE, PREMISES, FACTORIES and HISTORY … maybe using Philofaxy resources?
Sorry to ask three questions at a time, just the way my mind works!
No you didn’t just dream the key rings Lyndon - they were based on the Filofax “Original” model and are still on sale on Amazon UK and elsewhere.
DeleteI don’t think Norman & Hill really did much advertising until David Collischon started his mail order distribution business and then took over the company as Filofax in 1980.
A book such as you describe would be very nice, but I suspect Filofax don’t have that much in the way of historical records. A collaborative Philofaxy approach does seem the best way.
Many thanks
DeleteA totally different question. My zipper pull on my second hand Touch Me VDS has had some of the enamel paint rub off on the side. Although I do use a penny shaped flat charm to help pull it along it has worn where the charm isn't located, if that makes sense. I have bought a small tub of enamel paint from Amazon, the nearest match I can find, to do a touch up job. Frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem, or other parts wear on their planners?? Would be interested to know. xxxx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that. I'd suggest contacting Petra at Van der Spek as their customer service is excellent.
DeleteI got the aqua finsbury when it first came out and much of the color rubbed off pretty quickly. I was dumb enough to buy another one and it happened again. I have 2 mostly white filo finsburys and that ended my love affair with filofax because I contacted them and sent photos and they claimed that was normal wear and tear...after 2 months use!
