  1. I am a ring bound user, not a filofax but one day I'll have 1 for sure, but its expensive for my budget. I wonder how do you take care of the leather to look so bright and awesome. How much can last a leather filofax? If I finally decide to buy one, I want to take advantage of it as much as possible. So sorry If my grammar isn't good. I am from Panama.

    1. I fall into and out of using them. My first was a too small zipped pocket. Used it a bit but not for long it dates from 1991 and gets periods of use. Immaculate but then it's not been used much over the more recent years.

My current one has had 3 years of bouncing around in my work rucksack, being roughly pulled out and even thrown around (young child, don't ask). Not a scratch despite our because it's the cheap fake leather metropol.

One thing, use the opening tabs not the rings. I used the rings as I didn't know about the tab opening mechanism. That means both have the top ring slightly open when they're closed. If I'd known better they'd not be like this.

They should last longer than you want with looking after them. I'm sure you'll want a new one before it needs replacing.

  2. Just found out about how to open a Filofax without damaging the rings. Why was that a secret? Why don't Filofax have that as a little operating instruction in every new Filofax. I can't wait to see if my old pocket one has that feature too.

Are there any other surprises lurking in the Filofax design?
