Free For All Friday No. 678 by Anita

In some ways, I'm finding it hard to believe that we're already in November, but in other ways, it's also felt like a long year too. I normally start thinking about a kinda informal Filofax review in December, but thought that I'd start the process now instead.

As some of you will be aware, I keep a fairly small number of binders overall, but buy and sell to add some variety. Here is my current inventory:

Due to lots of family commitments this year, my faithful Kensington has once again been an invaluable tool for helping me to stay sane and keep on top of everything. As it's been a busy time, I haven't changed anything with my set up and it continues to work well for me. My A5 Original has been great for work, especially as I started the year working two jobs, subsequently resigning from the newer role and then increasing my hours in the first one.

A couple of questions that I find useful:
  • What has worked well - staying in the same binders and not changing my set up during a challenging and busy period (I'm aware that this won't suit everyone though)
  • Where I feel there's room for improvement:
    • To more regularly process adhoc notes and brain dumps from my Inbox (first section)
    • Numbers have slowly increased again, so it's time for me to decide which ones to keep or rehome. Initial thoughts about definite keepers: 1) Kensington, 2) Original and 3) Lefax or Van der Spek.
Have you been thinking about a similar review like this as we get closer to the end of the year?

And as always on Fridays, please feel free to discuss anything organiser related. I hope that you have a great weekend.

  1. Definitely feel the need to purge again. I dislike binders not getting used. I've settled on A6 rings. It's portable enough and the page size fits my handwriting. Now I have to decide if I'll ever go back to pocket. . .I highly doubt it so I think that'll be the first to go. May everyone feel settled for the upcoming year 😁
