Free for All Friday No. 684 by Nan

Believe it or not, there are just a couple of weeks left in 2021!

How are you using your Filofax or other ring-bound organizer to get ready for the new year? Do you have your new 2022 system loaded and ready to go? Or, like me, are you sticking with what you're doing and adding new pages as needed?

Of course, since it's Friday, all discussion of ring-bound organizers is welcome! Happy Friday!

  1. This year I've added a Christmas planning section with everything I need to do and it's worked well. It's been a while since I was this organised before Christmas

  2. I have been gradually using my organizer less and less as work has pushed me into Outlook and the overwhelming demand has me using a large, spiral-bound notebook as a capture and list tool. It is really a mess and I would like to pull things back together, and am trying to decide the best way to accomplish that. I am starting a new job in February and it seems like a good moment to reset my systems and the expectations I want to communicate to colleagues about how I manage my schedule, projects, information, and tasks. I miss having the control of a paper planner, but it is so difficult to balance paper with online systems (e.g. calendars, tasks) and so I feel I need to choose one or the other.

  3. In an ideal world, everything will be gathered at the same place... and in one planner of course ;-)
Even though digital has many advantages, I'm sticking to a paper planner (I bought my first more than 30 years ago) because it suits me better.
In 2022 I'll be using yearly, monthly, weekly and daily spreads all together for the first time; each one for different purposes. I managed to squeeze all this in a pocket format, which is also my wallet and... I LOVE it ! The most difficult part being sticking to useful information. Using all these different spreads will be a good experience to distinguish what's good (or not) for me.
My 2022 inserts are already integrated in my planner so yes, I'm ready.
