It might not be your most valuable or your cheapest organiser, most probably one you enjoy using the most or the one that stands up to daily use the best.
Hmmm, interesting formulation Steve, which caught me up short. I don't see my organiser as driving me at all - it's a tool so, if anything, I drive it, just as I drive my car or "drive" my computer. It's there at hand as and when I need it. Or, rather, they, because there are a pile of organisers and notebooks which all have different purposes. If there were ever a time when my organiser started to drive me, that would be the time to step back and take a long, hard look at my life!

I need a personal zip but i need it to lie flat so my Cuban and Windsor zips were a no go. I ended up in a Day Timer which is really not too special. The search is ongoing...
I have been bad about using my planner to focus my time since my spouse passed away. I end up making lists on paper and crossing things off as I get them done. I do use the calendar in my phone, but I have been distracted from checking it too. I need to get back to my main planner. Half sheet size - disc bound. I recently bought a Malden pocket to use as a wallet/planner and I need to figure out which calendar/to do list will be best for my needs.
Mine would definitely be my faithful Kensington as its well-worn leather has become soft with use, it holds a lot for its size & it's very hardwearing.
My uncle-in-law is a watch enthusiast/collector & he talks about using a 'beater watch' for daily use, so I wonder if it could be used in a similar way to 'daily driver'.
I had never heard the term “daily driver” before today, but then, I don’t have a choice of cars on the drive at home! For many years, my Time Manager Compact went everywhere with me. I then switched to a lighter Filofax Holborn Slimline. For the past three years, I’ve carried one of my Pocket Slim organisers, but still experiment with other binders and wallets. Tim Edwards.
Mine is my personal Portland. The two differently-sized pen loops are ideal for my sheaffer Targa fountain pen (classic) and Sheaffer Targa (slim) rollerball pen. The zip pocket is ideal for the odd coin and the leather is soft - easily portable and a pleasure to have to hand.
Gillio in personal size, purchased through this very website actually :) I tend to have one cover in constant use for years, before I get bored and move to a different cover. It’s inserts that change more often as my requirements change. I am currently in the process of getting custom vds planner and once I do am not moving out.. like EVER 😜
My daily driver is an A6 moterm in teal. Its beautiful. I do however also have a wallet set up in a stunning pocket holborn. I do take it everywhere but my daily page is in the A6. I only have a weekly spread, menu and shopping list and some note paper I the Holborn.
I use a Saffiano Compact for daily use (not the zipped one, am not a fan of those). I am lefthanded and prefer smaller rings and a compact planner to fit into any bag. I tried the Holborn slimline but found it didn’t fit enough pages and it doesn’t have any pockets nor closing mechanism — creased pages guaranteed…I’d prefer a leather planner but there aren’t any great options with smaller rings at a reasonable price. What really bugs me is that the Saffiano pen loop is too small, and that when I put a pen in it that is small enough to fit the loop the planner still won’t close. I clip a pen to it which kind of works but it isn’t a great solution and am sure will ruin the clip at some point. First world problems… An tips appreciated though.
I also use a Saffiano compact (and am also left handed). My pen is a Bic Soft Feel which easily fits the pen loop…also have no trouble closing the Filofax. I have tried a Bic 4 colour pen which fits the pen loop but puts strain on the closure.
My daily driver I guess is my big A5 Moterm which I keep on my desk - it has my calendar, to dos and info for current projects I'm working on in there. For out and about I have a Filofax saffiano personal compact with a zip and also a wrist strap I recently added to it - it works well as a purse for my cards, coins and I keep useful info in there for when I'm out and about shopping - current kids shoes sizes, swatches of the colours that suit me best for clothes from when I 'had my colours done', map of the local hospital for when I take my mum to appointments - I love it!
A Buckingham 2MLF Personal. It is a model from the late 1980s with very, very high quality leather. I had other models prior to this one, and they were prone to scraches. This one isn't, which is perfect of me because I only use one Filofax... Which means I take it everywhere!
Actually my Personal sized Original in Pillarbox red. It is just the right size to take it with me in my purse and the red looks so much better than the black one. I use Franklin Covey Compact sized inserts.
My "daily driver" is my much loved black Sherwood Personal 23mm ring with gilt corners on the front, which my late wife sourced (pre-owned) from eBay and gave to me on Valentine's Day 2020. It replaced a brown Sherwood Personal 23mm ring without gilt corners, which I sourced (pre-owned) from eBay and was only used for a couple of months. This, in turn, replaced a black Sherwood Personal 30mm ring which I had from new in the early 1990s.
I find the Sherwood Personal to be my ultimate Filofax. It has two pen loops (one for my timeless Parker Jotter 25 ballpoint and the other for my Pentel P205 0.5mm pencil). I tried to use the GTD method, but it took too long for me to read the book and grasp the concept. Anyway, my main areas that I need are Diary xx-68426 Week per Page (more for notable past dates and anniversaries, future appointments, and notes on things that happened on a particular day) and Finance (my card spending and balancing). My iPhone synchronises my contacts, notes, and appointments with my MacBook Pro running Outlook. I manually synchronise my Diary/Appointments with my Filofax and iPhone, so I can use either to check my availability.
