Hello Mr Philofaxy! When purchasing a filofax binder, if someone wanted a binder that could stand the test of time (from what's currently available at the filofax stores), I would guess that person would pick a leather binder. However, are there among the leather binders differences in the quality of the leather, and if so, which would have the best type of leather?
ReplyDeleteI have the late noughties "Kendal" in oiled leather which holds up amazingly to wear and seems to soak up damage, so while I know you asked for current models, I recommend taking a look at the secondhand models as well.

ReplyDeleteI've been using an A5 Malden for work for 3 years now. I work from home 3 days a week go into work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so it's constantly shuttling back and forth between the house and the office. It's a slightly rustic/vintagey-looking design, so any scuffs or scratches make perfect sense (as opposed to my shiny Lockwoods, where I don't deal with scuffs so easily). It's heavy, which some people might not like, and certainly adds weight to my bag, especially since I have it stuffed. The upside to the weight is that it lays flat beautifully. I'm very happy with it.
