The HitchHiker's Guide To The Plannerverse

Dear Fans of The HitchHiker’s Guide To The Plannerverse

As with all good things, we have agreed to pause our podcast recordings for now. We’ve managed to suspend all Patreon donations for one month as of 05-May-2023 and will evaluate whether we will switch to a different platform or simply shut down the podcast or both. If anyone has donated with the hopes of hearing new episodes, please reach out to one of us, and we will gladly refund your money. We paused it because it would be disingenuous of us to continue receiving your funds while not producing the podcast.

Some of you have reached out to us personally to tell us about your love affair with the dullest podcast in the plannerverse. We love you for it. Both of us agree that we have come full circle with our intention of getting the good word out about planning made simple. We started the podcast to help everyone feel included and valued on this path of walking one another home in the chaos of life on planet Earth. We both love and value the little plannercast that made us Number 374 on iTunes in New Zealand. If that’s not dull, I don’t know what is!

Steve and I are not divorcing. We have not had a row. We are still mates, and in fact, I’ll be sharing a glass of something the French produce with him later this summer. We do, however, feel the podcast has run its course and that we have outgrown it.  We are evaluating the various platforms available to us and will most likely relaunch later this year under a different name, covering topics that allow us to share our most current passions. We have matured, not like a bad curry, but rather like a fine wine.

We may very well still do a couple of recordings for the HitchHiker’s Guide To The Plannerverse, but if we do, it will be in a public domain without Patreon telling us what to do or how to be. We found the platform to be very constricting and not conducive to the creativity we would like to hone.

Please be reassured that all our published episodes will always remain available at https://philofaxy.com/podcast/ and at https://plannerology.com

To our haters: we are not going away. You can stalk us @MrPhilofaxy and @TheAyurvedic108 on Instagram, and in the other usual places, we reminded you of at the end of all our episodes and see just how happy we are.

Don’t be sad. We are not sad. We have better things brewing. A massive thank you to all of you who believed in us and came along for the ride which started in 2016.

Much love to you all from the outer rim of the Plannerverse, The Gruesome Twosome. Signing off for now.

Karine and Steve

  1. As someone who has listened to all 133 episodes (in full), I would like to record a thank you to Karine and Steve. Sourcing material, scripting, scheduling, recording (across time zones), interviewing, editing and other production needs will have taken a lot of time and effort. The early episodes, in particular, had a lot of very useful material and interesting discussion.

I’m sure you’ll find a way forward. Personally I disliked Patreon and the corporate monetisation scheme run by Amazon, that featured. Hopefully, there’s a way to avoid these in the future.

I’ve come to despise Patreon with a passion yet unseen. Thank you for listening and for caring enough to write in, Tim. The podcast was a way for us to express our love to the community.

  2. A sad day, but guess it had to happen at some time.
Thank you for all the podcasts, I've listened to them all, some multiple times.

  3. I can‘t believe it‘s been 133 episodes over 7 years. It feels like yesterday that you published the first episode.

  5. I will miss new planner podcasts but will continue to repeat ones I particularly found inspiring. Best wishes on your new endeavors and I’m looking forward to hearing what you have in store for your fans.

  6. I'll miss you. I'm in NZ, perhaps I'm the reason for your rating!

  7. I too have had issues with Patreon. I found myself engaged in a protracted negotiation, over many days, when I couldn’t upload material.
    So I pulled the plug.
And to be honest, I much prefer creating content without any schedule, and without the worry of providing “value” to paying subscribers.

  10. I've only recently started using Filofaxes and then found your podcast. I've been working my way through the back catalogue and finding it helpful! So it's a shame that it's coming to an end but I have a lot of respect for knowing when to draw a line. Pleased to hear that the archives will remain and that I don't have to binge-listen to it all in one go! All the best for your new endeavours.

  11. Thanks for everything you've both done thus far! I completely understand wanting to review and (possibly) regroup. I just hope that - should the Spirit move you both - there will be some future gems shared. I know I won't be the only one looking forward to them.

  12. I'm late to the farewell party, I want to say a profound Thank You for the body of work these podcasts represent: one which, like the planners you discuss, is essentially timeless, and so will continue to appeal to almost every kind of person who likes to use pen and paper, hopefully for many years to come. You covered a lot of ground and did it without being gimmicky, controversial-for-the-sake-of-it, or any of the other social media pitfalls of "content creators." Like the distant sound of a piano, doves cooing, and the taste of one's favourite evening drink, the subtle and reliable things are often the sweetest, especially when life becomes chaotic.

Thank you both, and I hope you find future projects which excite and inspire you along the way!

  13. Such a late comment, but I must tell you both how much I have enjoyed the podcast and how happy I am to have the saved episodes on my phone. You can’t get this caliber of entertainment just anywhere, you know. πŸ˜„. Honestly though, thanks so much for what you’ve given us in the community. I look forward to seeing your new projects as well.
