Wikipedia Coolness

Lately, I've noticed some folks arriving here by clicking a link on the Wikipedia page for Filofax. It's true! Our humble blog is listed as an external link on that page.

I don't know how long the link has been there, or who put it there, but I'm sure glad to see it there. Anybody can edit Wikipedia pages. I could have put our link there myself a long time ago, but I didn't.

Note to self: Stop missing opportunities like that.

  1. Cool! Definitely an honor.

I think you were right *not* to add your own links - I've always resisted adding PigPog to any Wikipedia stuff, with the result that we're not mentioned anywhere in it :(

At least that way, though, we can't be accused of using it for self-promotion.

  2. Hi,

It was me. I have been enjoying your blog for a while and thought that you should be included on the entry.

I hoped that you wouldn't mind.

I'm also a member of the Flikr group and will share some 'fax pictures with you soon.

    1. Although I notice the link has now disappeared... pity really.

  3. Chris, thanks for much for adding the link for the blog. That was very thoughtful. I look forward to seeing your pics on Flickr!

Michael, I guess you have a point about using Wikipedia for self-promotion. I guess self-promotion really isn't what an encyclopedia is all about, although Wikipedia certainly seems like a free-for-all at times.
