Unlike our traditional 'horizontal' format it is spread over two pages but as two individual pages instead of a fold out format.
So this insert is a year on two pages, it is formatted in vertical format for A5.
You can download and print finished versions for this year from our diary inserts page.
If you want to customise this insert to your own requirements you need to download the source files here Word file and the Excel file, you will need both.
We have also done this one a single A4 page in the more conventional way that you can print out and then 'Z-fold' to fit an A5 organiser.

ReplyDeleteLove it - this is great for planning before printing out the dailies.
ReplyDeleteBy popular request I'm developing the Personal size equivalent of this one.
ReplyDeleteIs there any way the 2017 one can be done Steve for us waifs and strays that teach and follow an academic year format, ie 2017-2018. I work from September-August in my planner, so Sept 2017- August 2018. I know you can change the source file somehow you once said, to suit your own dates, but not sure how to do this here. I need a tecchie bod to say now you press button A. A whole year would be okay or pointers as to how to change the source file for your needs. THANK YOU. I love this insert. How clever of you and Ray.
ReplyDeleteTo do an academic year planner you have to take both years and copy and paste the months from one in to the other and remove the earlier months to get the 12 months you want. There's no easy way of doing it in the source files unless you rewrite them!
DeleteCheck your email account Jane
DeleteAh, I'm sorry Steve, I obviously have a lot to learn and don't know how the source files work in reality! I wish I were more tecchie, but I'm willing to learn and am a keen and eager beaver. I love to try new stuff out.Still find Excel baffling, as it never looks like the printed version on the screen I find.I'm bootling off to check my e. mail account straight away Steve. Thank you for helping out. You know, my brain feels fried trying to sort out my inserts this year and yet I know which ones I like and which work through years of trial and error. I've had quite severe hay fever the last few weeks and think the anti-histamines are getting to me a bit. Thank you again for all you do and your Philofaxy support........ scuttling off to look at inbox now!!
ReplyDeletethank you! going to attempt this tomorrow. I'll start with a 2019 to see if I can do the mail merge. If I can figure that out with the videos, I'm good!
ReplyDeleteHello - this is my favourite format for using for the whole year and I'm happy to create my own but when I click on the links to download the word and excel source files nothing happens. Are the links broken? Can I access the files from somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteLove Philofaxy - thank you, Alison
The links are working, I've just tested them. Check your browser set up for setting for download location.
DeleteThanks for checking so quickly Steve, some of the source files were downloading & opening straight away just by left clicking on them - these ones I had to copy the link address and paste it into a new tab and then it downloaded it fine. Chrome is having a weird day!
DeleteAll sorted now though, mail-merged and working perfectly - thanks very much again, Alison
I'm pleased you worked it out. They are also linked from the main diary inserts page as well.
DeleteTake care
Steve
Hello! I am struggling to edit the year on two pages formatted in vertical format for A5 for 2023, and I cannot find the videos anywhere. Could you perhaps send me a direct link to the videos, how to edit the word document? I am using a MacBook.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
Hi
DeleteThe videos are at the bottom of this page: https://philofaxy.blogspot.com/p/diary-inserts.html
What exactly are you struggling to edit?
Thanks very much for the link, those videos are very helpful!
DeleteI am struggling to edit the vertical annual planner so it's over 2 pages and not just one.
Hi, apologies for the typo.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for the link, I have found the videos and they are very helpful!
I am trying to edit the vertical annual planner A5 on 2 pages. When creating the file, the entire planner is on one page. How can I split it over two pages?
Many thanks!!
Let me grab the files and remind myself how this one is arranged.
DeleteEmail me at philofaxy at gmail dot com I tried it, did the mail merge and it split across to pages straight away. So I'm not sure what you are doing wrong.
DeleteOk and here comes the next challenge, the top left corner does not update the year field, it just says "year". Any idea how I can fix that? Sorry for all the questions, I hope you don't mind.
DeleteOh dear, I must have downloaded the wrong file. I have just tried it again, and now it works. Sorry and thanks so much for everything you do, it is very much appreciated!!! :-) Have a lovely festive season.
