  1. Does anyone here use a satellite planner as well as an at-home planner? How does it work for you?
I'm thinking of having a separate bag planner with a Mo2P as my A5 planner is a bit big to have to keep taking out of my bag on the move.

    1. In my case, A5 stays at home, A6 travels around with me. As for duplication, which is what everyone always asks. The planner part of my A6 just has my appointments in it, not many of those these days, all fairly regular ones too. I occasionally put notes and tasks in it or stuff I think about and need to jot down away from home. Otherwise most of that sort of thing is in my A5.
Other stuff I carry in the A6 tends to be information pages for odd things again when I'm away from home.

    2. We have a joint planner that stays on a desk. I carry a mini VDS that has all the information I need when out and about. It is new and my partner has shown a great interest in it as it has a back pocket and card holders.

    3. I drew my week insert on shorter lined paper for my Franklin pocket binder because I would like to remove the pages and place them in a smaller pocket binder. The pages may be too tall though. With a different alignment of rings I would punch the necessary holes. I want to use the insert in both binders. For some meetings and errands I need a petite binder.

    4. I do much the same as Steve. My Filofax with all my class due dates and work to be done stays home and I have one of the new style FF notebooks that is in my backpack with what classes/appointments I have that day amd anything IO need to remember while out. It's also convenient for making notes of things while out that I move to my planner when I get home. I started this mainly as a way of keeping the weight I have to carry as light as possible and it's worked well.

    5. Interesting to hear how 2 planners works for others...

While tempted to do this, I've worried that I'll end up with info in one and not in the other and at some point, something will fall through the cracks....

Maybe I just worry too much.... ;-)

    6. My A5 stays home. I use a pocket size as a wallet and planner. I also carry shopping lists in the pocket. I make a lot of appointments on the go. We are a busy family but it only takes about 5 minutes per day to sync the planners. This system has been working for me for a few years now.

  2. So, I am having a jard time coming up with a definitive list of Filofaxes that have a full width Wallet pocket in Compact, Slimline, or Personal sizes.
I have spent some time on the excellent Filowiki site, and other than the Balmoral Personal, am a little stumped on the Personal list.
In general, it's hard to trust even somewhat decent auction pics on Ebay, and even reviewers sometimes neglect to mention said pocket, even when I am aware that their review model does have one.

  3. Has anyone using a Filofax Original experienced problems with the outer stitching? My personal unraveled quite badly within 3 months. The company would not do anything, but a local leather shop did a great repair job. My new A (not a month old and never left the house) started fraying at the top. Returned it for a new one. Have found nothing on the Web about this. Maybe I am just jinxed? Rather distressed that all the money spent is not equalling quality. I take very good care of my things.

    1. I am sure I have much more limited FF experience than some here, but my small collection have perfect stitching. One has been carried for approx 10 years now, daily. The other I just got used, I'd guess it's 15 years old or so, used even more, but still perfect.
YMMV of course, but these days I look longingly at many FF ebay pics, and almost everything looks like it's in good shape to my eyes.

  4. I just got an Original a5 in Patent Purple. I'm wondering how the leather holds up. Does it scratch easily? Do I have to baby it? It is so shiny I am afraid it show every small scratch.

    1. Just purchased the same one. I am interested in finding out the answer to this as well. So far I think it is made very well and should last a long time. Seems to wipe up any messes, fingerprints, very easy.
