Review: Qimmis - fill your days

It was a pleasant surprise to view the Qimmis website and see the range of inserts they offered, they had asked me to take a look over their designs and see what I thought of them.

They call their inserts 'Dayfillers', they offer them in different themes and layouts. You can select different page sizes, languages, start dates and duration. They also offer different hole punching to suit Filofax (6 hole), Franklin Covey/Daytimer (7 ring) and a Swedish 4 hole standard too.

All of their inserts, sorry I mean 'Dayfillers' are printed on white smooth paper.

They also offer extra inserts for travel planning, address and contacts, notes, page markers and index markers too. No doubt the range of pages will expand in the future too.

The pages are offered in standard Filofax Pocket, Personal and A5 sizes. All of the 'Dayfillers' use a Week View format but in four different layouts. With week view being so popular it isn't surprising as the starting point for this range of diary inserts.

The design of the 'Dayfillers' is quite simple and contemporary and the themes are quite tasteful and not too distracting, nor as you will see do they dominate the pages.

So in terms of themes here are the current four all shown in the 'Week' layout:

Here are the other three layouts, shown in 'Vanilla' for clarity:

Weekline
Week Vertical
Week and Note

For a gallery of sample pages in the different layouts visit the gallery page on Qimmis website

One other thing worth mentioning, at present the inserts do not include any national holidays, but it is hoped to include these in the near future and you would be able to choose from a list of countries at the time of ordering.

I carried out a simple 'pen test' as shown here:

As you can see only the CD marker and the Vpen have some bleed through issues, there is minor traces with fine fountain pen as well, but only where my hand dwelled for slightly too long.

Overall I think the range offered is a great starting point and a useful addition to the choice of inserts available to everyone who don't want to tackle printing your own inserts from our own expansive range of inserts, but you want something different to the standard ones offered by Filofax.

Visit Qimmis at their own website, where you can look and chose and order inserts. You don't have to buy a full 12 months, you can buy as little as 3 months and choose which month to start from so you can try them out for your self. Prices are displayed in Swedish Kroner but the site is in English

Thank you to Kim at Qimmis for sending me a special print of samples showing the different aspects of the designs and themes.

  2. So, its 6.30 am and i am up and baking because Someone in our house is snoring... i see the cupcake diary which is EXACTLY what I need in my baking filo in which I am currently making do with a verticle filo diary with appointments. And i can have it to start from now. Yeah!! So, I shove the real cookies in the oven and attend to the virtual cookies to get me that week line diary. £19?!!! Yikes. But, hey. Its early. i have low resistance to common sense this early. But what about shipping? that make me fill in the whole address form before they tell me they will not ship to the UK.

    WHY NOT??
they put their site in English. You can even choose between English UK and English US inserts. They ask for a review on an international site and then will not deliver.

    Not smart.

Oh and if I wanted it to start from january 2014... No option for that.

  3. I correct myself. Actually when I put in my basket its only £15 because they knock off the Swedish sales tax because I am in a country to which they will not deliver...

    1. Sounds like a setting issue with the site shop software a box isn't ticked or similar. If you know about CMOS logic this is SMOS.... Small matter of software!

Kim will see the comments and hopefully rectify the issue

    2. ;) trouble is it feels like Small Matter of Stupidity to a sleep deprived shopper!
I'm not as irate as all my comments make me sound though because (a) life worked just fine without a cupcake diary yesterday and (b) I bet Janet Carr would help me out if it turns out the roof will fall down today without one. !!

    3. I really love the skyline ones, but couldn't justify that kind of price for inserts, hence why I print from here :). Now Steve if you and Ray want to create some prettified ones??? lol x

    4. Hi,
It's so much fun to see that others than myself appreciate the designs of the dayfillers! And thank you all for your test and comments. Of course we do ship to UK from Sweden and that has now been fixed. The shipping and sales tax are based on whether you're ordering from a EU-country or not. Customers ordering from a country outside EU do not pay the sales tax.
Helen and Alex, maybe you'll be reminded of the pretty design when you smell the cookies getting done in the oven... :) A contest is soon coming up for you to get the chance to win your own dayfiller, exactly as you want it. You should definitely participate!

  5. Thanks for link. I ordered a few things. No problem with shipment to Switzerland. And it's cheap too, only 140 swedish Kroner, of which 60 is for postage.

  6. Thank you for this review. I am going to order some. They are expensive, but not more expensive than the Filofax inserts on crappy paper here in the Netherlands. And I like the design.
But most of the inserts I print from Steve and Ray's site. Thank you for the work you put in making those inserts.

  10. Those look simply amazing, but I REALLY love my equal space for all days of the week, and won't be getting rid of it in a hurry!

    1. Equal space for all days of the week isn't something we've thought of before. We will absolutely look in to it. Thank you!

  12. These are really nice refills! Love the Week plus Notes. And I love that I can order a refill to start now, when there are no more 2013 refills in the shops. It would be great if we could select Australian national holidays as an option. It looks like US and UK holidays are the only choices.

  13. About 170kr for what I want ( about $25) which is more expensive, but I could live with that if I could only find out what the price is for shipment to Australia. If it's anything like American postal rates then I'll have to stick with the "Last Diary Company" inserts.

    1. The price for shipment to Australia is 60 kr which is approximately 9 USD. Thanks for pointing out the need of clearer information. Happy to hear from far far away Australia!

  14. Any chance for a 2-pages-per-day version for the personal sized binders. Preferably with a Franklin Covey layout?
