Free For All Friday No. 338

Have you started to use your Filofax for planning your summer holidays? What pages do add to it it? Mine is going to need some slimming down soon!

As always it's Friday so please feel free to discuss anything Filofax or ring bound organiser related.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Too busy at work to think about planning a summer holiday....unfortunately...maybe later on.....

In meantime, curious as to what everyone's favorite work related planning pages are and from which company?........

    Thanks,

    Mark

    1. I used the personal-sized Filofax DPP in my previous workplace, which could've worked better if those rings weren't in the way! I think I resorted to WO2P and daily to-do lists on note pages instead at the end.

    2. Thanks for the input.......

You need to get a Filofax with ADRWW (automatic disappearing rings when writing) function.....works great!....

    3. My favourite work planning leaf is actually the Annual Leave Planner - a Pholofaxy download!
I got a refreshed version from Gerard to bring it up to date.

    4. I recently starting using my own bespoke adapted from the suggestion of another Philofaxy Facebook group member. Up to then, and still occasionally, I used the undated day on 2 pages from Filofax.

    5. Curiously (to me), as I get older I'm getting more and more fond of blank paper as opposed to printed inserts. I'm currently using mainly Conqueror A5 90 (100?) gm A5 cream wove, and am going to try some Clarefontaine Triomphe if I can find a loose leaf A5 supplier.

Tomoe River is beautiful, but something a little heavier in weight suits me at the moment......

    6. That is interesting, David......

So, you just jot down appts or notes on blank pages now?

      No pre-printed diary pages?

    7. I still use pre=printed diary pages, but for capture and lists I'm using either plain paper, or David Parker's excellent GTD-inspired templates which I print onto the same blank A5 paper myself.

Current choices for pre-printed diaries are David Parker's Wo2P in A5, or Wo2P with lines for Personal.

I've been experimenting with Time/System refills and dividers, but I just find the whole system too cumbersome (both in weight and ease of use). The paper quality and design of the inserts are superb, though.

  2. I store the pages for my Franklin pocket binder in an expanding coupon file. I already kept note paper in the slots. My week insert which is nearly personal size fits in a slot. I thought about another binder for this purpose but I do not need one. I saw someone using a pocket binder. She was holding it in one hand and writing in it for function or as a date book from what I could see. I do not know what brand it was but it was filled with just calendar pages or note paper. I find that a pocket binder is easier to use when standing. My binder does not lie flat but I can hold it open with one hand. I would want a pocket binder with soft leather if I bought another one.

  3. Damn - my comment has disappeared. Anyway, I would love a sustainable eco line with materials like wood or cotton. My dream would be a personal size planner in a 1920/art deco cigar case shape out of a nice polished wood material. Or a less expensive range could be a cotton cover that can be pulled over a light alluminium frame attached to the ring mechanism, which could easily be removed and washed.
