What alternative names do folks use for the GTD method of planning's brain dump section? I just wince at that name!! Thanks in advance. xx
ReplyDeleteIn-box or Capture in my case
DeleteI would like to hear from freelancers, especially coaches and instructors, on how they organize their work and personal stuff
ReplyDeleteI'm the same as Steve as I call it my Inbox.
ReplyDeleteMindSweep
ReplyDeleteInbox works for me, "brain dump" doesn't sound right.
ReplyDeleteButanben,
ReplyDeleteIn my planner, I call it the "Capture" section. Pretty sure David Allen calls it an "Inbox".
Thanks folks! Inbox seems to be the firm favourite. I thought of huddle as in to gather ideas together. Not sure of that. Capture sounds like ideas being held captive though. So inbox or huddle it will be. I adored landing pad, but too long for my label tabs!!! Thanks for sharing ideas. Am so grateful. xx
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know why and when Filofax discontinued it's Flex product line?
ReplyDeleteI suspect it was because the company (Blueline) that bought them had a competing product that they went with instead of the Flex. Just a guess, not official knowledge.
DeleteThank you dear Steve! Do you think the blueline MiracleBind Notebooks are the replacement of the Flex Notebooks? By the way, have a nice evening with best wishes from Berlin :-)
DeleteThey are quite a versatile replacement, the Filofax (MiracleBind) notebooks use the same spacing in all the sizes, so you can move pages from one size to another without any problems.
DeleteI can't remember when the Flex (released in 2011) was discontinued, but it had a fairly short life. I don't think Filofax sell the inserts for them any more, hence why I buy Muji notebooks and trim them for width for the Slim and just use them as is in my A5.
Yes, the versatility of the MiracleBind Notebooks is a great feature. The only downside: I would need yet another kind of hole punch :-/ for the needed individually supply.
DeleteMaybe one handy tip for the Flex slim, from which I own three. There is a soft cover notebook from Leuchtturm (A6 size), that fits neatly. For these you won't need any trimming at all. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact name or size at the moment. ... Had to look them up for you: they are called Jottbook Pocket, usually sold in a 3 piece-package. They come with different pattern: lined, checkered, dotted, blanko, have an index and page numbers. Here is a link to Amazon.de with one example for you: https://www.amazon.de/LEUCHTTURM1917-349333-Jottbook-Notizheft-Pocket/dp/B01DY5SEFK
Thank you they look the perfect size. I will take a look on Amazon France for them.
DeleteYou are welcome :-) They are quite thin though, each has 60 pages only. On the other hand, the little bulk and weight is a bonus on the go. Plus you can fit two Jottbooks into the Flex Slim perfectly, have 120 pages in total and even choose two different page designs within one Flex notebook.
