After reading the post about downsizing to pocket size I have been thinking about it more and more. I have one (my first an unknown brand binder with zip) and I have bought a day to a page 2024 cheaply to last the rest of the year to experiment.
ReplyDeleteI really struggle to fit everything in to whatever size I use. Currently finsbury A5 deskbound and personal holborn for mobile use. As I drop in size I drop the functionality in some way. For example I use day to a page in A5 but it won't even fit 2 months rolling in personal. I also drop a few things or do things more compactly / economically with what I write in it as I go to the personal.
So that makes me wonder if your larger binder size setup can be made to fit a smaller binder size? If not then what reduction to you apply? Or is it simply that you use the smaller binder size in a totally different way?
I am very plain and simple with my organisation. I try to keep it all with personal as in A5. Namely diary, notes, projects (tabbed sections) and information (such as passwords and acount details). In notes I am kind of using bullet journal rapid logging in a basic way. I do not decorate binders with plain colour tabs or clear plastic tabs.
I keep a few password / address pages in and some spare notepaper sheets. I tend to only keep a rolling 3 months diary in both sizes I have. That is WOTP in personal or day to a page in A5. So I really can not see how I struggle to get much in my binders. My personal is stuffed and can be difficult to turn pages it is overstuffed. My A5 is less stuffed but at 30mm instead of 23mm that is why.
So I am curious as to what I can get into pocket. I suspect it will be a diary and passwords file only I suspect. I really do struggle to see how others seem to cram so much more in their smaller binders.
Do you have documentation on your mail merge files? I downloaded them but linking the data is a bit hard since I am not sure the relationship between the tabs in the xlsx files.

As in the diary insert files? If it's that, then it's standard Microsoft stuff. There's a few videos on the diary inserts page on how to use the files and the last column on the page indicates which sheet to use when merging the different files.
DeleteCan you provide links to the videos for diaries. So the final column os the data driver?

The merge sheet column on this page https://philofaxy.blogspot.com/p/diary-inserts.html
DeleteAnd the videos are at the foot of that page too.
Thank you. I saw the videos before I asked, and they are a bit dated. I will try again. I have 25 years of data driven variable printing.

As we started these inserts about 12 years ago, although Office has changed in that time, the basics are still the same so we haven’t added to the videos.
DeleteI understand now. By merge sheet, that must be selected for the given template upon opening. That was the connection that I was missing.

I think it is mentioned in the instructions on the page. But contact me by email if you have any issues.
