  1. I'm intrigued to know how male Filofax personal users carry their binders around when away from the home. I use a leather courier type bag.

    1. For a number of years I've used a small messenger/camera bag. With it being a camera bag it has a soft padded lining and movable dividers inside it.
It's no longer for sale, but it's a Lowepro Event Messenger 150 bag.
I did a post about it here: https://bagsey.blogspot.com/2019/06/what-is-in-my-bag-in-2019.html

But the contents have changed a bit since then! As I'm now using Personal size again, that fits into the bag a lot easier. And I've swapped the blue pouch for a smaller one as well.

I hate carrying anything in my pockets so everything goes on to my bag.

I do have other bags, but this is the one that gets the most use.

    2. I got it back in April 2012!! Older than I thought:

    3. Always in a briefcase, with very, very few exceptions. I actually use a “house briefcase” as well, for carrying the Filofax, current papers and pens around the house. I just move the Filofax to my work briefcase on office days.

    4. For work, I carry a briefcase; for leisure, a leather shoulder bag — usually from the Italian manufacturer Time Resistance — or a Fjällräven messenger bag.

    5. Large coat pockets. Partly why I prefer a compact these days.

  2. For me, I like to use my Nike backpack. It's easy, hassle-free, and doesn't require much effort!

As I'm a student, and quite young, it's also the most obvious option for me, and probably most other students my age. I also like to avoid carrying anything extra by hand, because I need them free for when I am taking my art folders with me around the city, so I doubt I'll be using anything else to put my filofax in, for a while...

That being said, I used to use a Pocket filofax as it suited my lifestyle and wasn't too heavy, but with the new year, I decided to use a Personal for the first time outside the house, and it's definitely shifted my the contents of my backpack quite a bit.

As it's much heavier than my pocket, I've had to try keep it minimal, and properly focus on what I actually need. I'd love to know what are the 'must-haves' for other male filofax users, as the extra room in my filofax opens so many possibilities!!!

  3. I’ve a small manbag (identical to my wife’s handbag but a bit smaller). It will hold anything up to my Heritage A5. If I’m out hiking, camping etc it’s usually my Lockwood Pocket Slim (as featured on here 28th September 2016) which goes in my trouser pocket or cycling jacket.
