  1. Here's a nice link I've found

perhaps it might be a good one for the Weekly Finds?

    This is B6 size (122 x 179mm) - my favourite size.

If anyone can suggest a manufacturer that provides leather versions of these (Filofax Personal ring size) then I'll be in heaven.

It's the perfect size for me - about half as wide again as Filofax Personal and wider than Franklin Covey - but I stay with Filofax because of their binders. BUT if there is a leather B6 option I might have a few for sale!

    1. The Senior Size Van der Spek organisers are now available to take A6 size pages and in a large range of different leather finishes and colours. http://vdsshop.com/

    2. Thanks Steve. B6 is an unusual size in most stationery shops. This is a link to the B sizing. I suppose it's closest to envelope sizes really.

and here is B6 overlaid to A5

As you can see it's a lot more writing area than personal size but with the same height paper. I was thinking of contacting Van der Spek and asking if they could build one, but the cost might be a little scary!

    3. I'm familiar with the B sizing Deskfax is B5, but these days it's difficult to buy paper in the B5 sizes, it's generally used for books, where as C sizes are used for envelopes for A size paper. I would consider just going for an A5 or A6 instead of personal.

The issue with a custom size like that will be what size and format rings to use, also none of the templates will be suitable so there will be a lot of extra one off work.

    4. You've summarised exactly why I've been slow to follow this up. I've purchased a vinyl sample and I'll try your excellent templates and see how I go. If it works out, who knows, there may be another planner brand on the market!

    5. Have you come across the HB x WA5 format from the Japanese company Ashford?
It is the height of personal and the width of A5, with standard personal holes. That would perhaps give the extra width you like Amanda, and they make lovely leather binders. Only downside would be having to order from Japan, which can be tricky.

  3. Based on YouTube videos I have watched, Filofax had an awsome end of the year sale. Does anyone know if this is an annual event? If so does any one know when it starts.

    1. Different countries have different sales at different times. UK always used to have a sale starting in the last few days before Christmas but it was never awesome". It was replaced by more specific voucher code offers for the past couple of years as they realised that December was their busiest sakes month. The only really big discounts (in the UK) have been on "Last Chance to Buy", shops like WH Smith and clearance items disposed of through TKMaxx.

    2. Thanks for your reply Tim. I will keep my eyes open. Here in the USA we have TJ MAXX. I will keep looking there as well. Thanks again.

  4. I need a Filofax with 30 mm rings. Which ones (not zipped) have the larger rings?

    1. Cavendish has 30 mm rings. But Van der Spek now also offer 30 mm rings in their Standard (Personal) size and 25 and 35 mm ring size in their A5 size in both Touch Me and Custom made.

    2. You don't specify whether you mean Personal or A5 size. The A5 Bridle has 30mm rings, and is a beautiful binder, if a fair weight to carry!

  6. Hi Steve, I have an iMac. I downloaded a template but can't get it into Pages in a way that would allow me to print back and front as the pages all seem to run together - if that makes sense. Can you point me to instructions please as I can't find them. Thanks
