I linked to this article in the last Web Finds. It is an article I wrote for our local magazine here in France. The Deux-Sèvres Monthly, which is an English magazine distributed free through out our department (county). 

We live in the very north of the department and the north of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of South West France.  

The magazine gets very good circulation amongst the residents of the department and neighbouring regions as well as visiting tourists (not that there are many of those at the moment!)

The latest innovation from Filofax is not about organisation, it’s about individualisation

Clipbook offers the simplicity of a notebook yet without the limitations of a bound book. Its clever, patented design incorporates a six ring mechanism into the spine which can be opened with a gentle pull on both sides of the reinforced cover. The smart construction means you can add your own content as the book simply expands to accommodate more pages and shrinks back down when you want less. Even the outside can be customised by hanging small charms onto the cover rings.

Clipbook lies flat when open, providing an ideal writing surface and folds back on itself making it instantly useable on the move. It comes with a starter pack of note papers and undated diary and planner, and in A5 it’s compatible with Filofax A5 refills.

The first collection includes a soft, textured leather-look version in black, white and turquoise RRP £18 and following soon after with translucent fluoro pink and purple RRP £15.

Clipbook is initially being trialled in the UK and will be on sale on the Filofax website www.filofax.co.uk from w/c 7th April (fluoro pink and purple from w/c 14th April). It has been on sale during the past few weeks in selected WHSmith stores and will be expanded into more of their stores in the coming weeks. Press Release - Gillio Firenze - New prices for 2014 - Updated

Thanks to our international fans, Gillio has been working hard over these last few months to improve the service to our customers. Not only are we improving response times and overall customer service, but we are also developing new products and trying to implement as many of your suggestions and remarks as we can. We want to thank you all very much for your enthusiasm and support!

We received a lot of questions about the pen that is no longer included with our organisers. As you might know, Gillio has released its own pen range end of 2013. It’s only natural we want our high-quality organisers to be accompanied by one of our own high-quality pens! Therefore, in early March, following changes will take place: 

1.    We have not increased our prices over the last couple of years, although both material costs and labour costs have gone up significantly. In order to be able to keep producing with the same high quality materials, the prices of all Gillio products will slightly increase. All new prices are already available on our website, but here is an overview of the most important organiser-models and their prices:

 2. Even though the prices for all Gillio products have gone up we wanted to do something extra for all organiser fans. Instead of the previously included basic silver-coloured pen, all of our models will now come with a high quality signature Gillio Pen.

3. Listening to the demands and needs of our ever-growing fanbase, we have been very busy re-negotiating transport costs with our freight forwarder. As a result we will significantly decrease our shipping costs on all orders placed after the 6th of March. Some examples:

•  to the US: €25 (instead of €38)
•  to Australia/Canada: €35 (instead of €69)
• to Italy/Ireland: €20 (instead of €38)

For countries like Italy and Ireland the total cost of a medium compagna epoca planner will be more or less the same including all pricing differences, it will even be upgraded with a better pen!

For some countries like Australia and Canada there is even better news, due to a significant drop in transport costs the same planner will be even cheaper!

Filofax Spring Collection Revealed - Press Release

From Tuesday 11th March the new Filofax Spring collection is available in the Filofax online store – www.filofax.co.uk

Spring is the time when Filofax unveils its new prints and non-leather designs and this year it’s all about floral patterns, pastels and glossy finishes.

Floral Burst is the second Cover Story competition pattern to be revealed by Filofax. Designed by the winner of the 2013 competition, the stunning print is beautiful in its simplicity. Winning designer Alexia Clare says “I am very led by colour choices when it comes to my designs. The colours in the design were inspired by a vintage dress I have had since childhood”. Floral Burst comes in two sizes - pocket £28 and personal £35.

Willow is inspired by the symmetry and lines of willow tree leaves. With its pastel tones and soft feminine simplicity, it complements the Spring catwalk fashion trend for all things pastel and pretty. In pocket £28 and personal £30.

Domino Patent is in contrast a vivid and stunning high gloss texture in the season’s must have colour, hot pink. The familiar Domino elastic closure is the perfect finishing touch for this contemporary organiser. The Calipso

The Calipso has been very well received, we featured a 'Twin Review' of it a few weeks ago now.  You can remind yourself of what our reviewers thought of it here and here. I wonder how the 'Twins' are getting on?
