Twitter

Just a short announcement today. Philofaxy is no longer on Twitter.

For some months now we have not been able to automatically post our blog posts to Twitter without paying a Kings ransom to do so.

This week Twitter took away Tweetdeck from people that also were not paying their subscription to the company.

At €100 per year just for Tweetdeck per account it was time to make a decision.

It is unfortunate because a few years ago there was quite a planner community on Twitter, again without paying for the subscription our posts wouldn't be seen by many people.

It seems that social media isn't quite what it used to be.

Thank you for your continued support.

Twitter Roll Call

Twitter amongst our 'community' has continued grow with more and more readers joining in.

It was a couple of years ago since we last did a 'roll-call' So if you are on Twitter, why not let us know who you are and we will 'follow' you and you can join in the daily fun.

Of course don't forget to follow Philofaxy on Twitter to see instant news of site posts and other updates.

There is also PhilofaxyNews which is a bit of an experiment 'Filofax news feed' which I've been trying to perfect.

If you aren't yet on Twitter, then give it a try, as you build up the people you follow and those that follow you then it actually does work quite well.

Twitter Roll Call Time...

Twitter amongst our 'community' has continued grow with more and more readers joining in.  Recently I've noticed more people in the US joining in, which is great. We often have a lot of 'worldwide' discussions on there.

It was back in July last year that we last did a 'roll-call' So if you are on Twitter, why not let us know who you are and we will 'follow' you and you can join in the daily fun.

Of course don't forget to follow Philofaxy on Twitter to see instant news of site posts and other updates.

If you aren't yet on Twitter, then give it a try, as you build up the people you follow and those that follow you then it actually does work quite well.

Date for your diary - Philofaxy Chat on Skype

The Twitter streams have really been busy and buzzing with chats between some of our readers this last week or so. One of the wild ideas that came out of these discussions included a face-to-face meet up in London some time in the future. Of course arranging a suitable date might not be so easy. But I think you will agree that it's a great idea and let's hope it happens one day soon.

In the mean time we would like to get as many people together for a chat, mainly about Filofax, but who knows where the conversation will lead us. So far some star readers and contributors have said they will try to make it, so come on line and join in the fun.

When? - Sunday 8th August from mid-day (US East Coast time), 5pm London time, 6 pm Paris time etc.

Where? - an on-line chat using Skype.

What do I need? - just a micro-phone and a free Skype account.

Who - All of you... connect up with Philofaxy and we will attempt to get as many of us linked in to the audio conference as possible.

Like last time I will try and report back.

I know there are several of us looking forward to putting a voice to the usernames so please pop in if only to say hi and to introduce yourself.

As you know Philofaxy has been on Twitter for some time, and we feed updates on the blog out via Twitter.

In the last few weeks I've noticed a lot more Filofax related traffic on Twitter. Quite a few of our readers are now following each other and exchanging ideas and pictures via Twitter.

Are you on Twitter? Do you want to join in, put your Twitter username in a comment and join in the chat.

If you use the micro-blogging site Twitter, you can follow Filofax UK's Twitter stream at http://twitter.com/Filofax_UK and get the company's latest announcements.

In other news, Filofax has also created a focus group as a way of getting customer feedback. If you join, Filofax will ask you to complete occasional online questionnaires. In return, they'll offer discounts and prizes.

If enough of us sign up, we just might get some of things we've been dreaming about: http://www.filofax.co.uk/signup/.
