Whilst schools are close to finishing their academic year, the new school year will soon appear over the horizon.

One of the participants in a recent 'Virtual Meet-up' on Skype shared with me an old Filofax insert that is no longer in print. I've adapted the design a little to meet modern day requirements.

We start with a Course Record for keeping a track of those high grade marks in all subject through the year!

The second side of the above insert might be this Timetable. Combine them if you wish.

I have also created a combine Course Record/Timetable insert for Personal size on A4 Paper.
When printing any of the above inserts remember to 'scale to fit' the appropriate size paper with the exception of the Personal on A4, just print at 100% and cut and punch to suit.

Planning the Academic Year with your Filofax

Students, and parents of students, how are you using your Filofax to plan this academic year?

I recently had a post on this topic on Plannerisms, but I want to specifically ask the Philofaxy crowd how you are using your Filofax to plan this academic year.

The school year has only just begun and already it feels like a manic whirl of events to schedule, projects to prepare for, and activities to organize.  This year not only are both my kids in school, but my husband is on his own academic schedule as a lecturer so I have his lecturing and holidays schedule to factor in as well.

How are you keeping it all straight? Which diary format(s) are you using? Have you created a specific tabbed section? What other tips do you have for keeping yourself and everyone else organized this school year?

Back to School Plan?

So with the school holidays nearly over, although as we know the children in Scotland have already gone back to school.... thank you Laurie!

Whilst in the local supermarket yesterday there seemed to be more French children than usual, but it was explained when I saw them all carrying a list of things they needed for their return to school next week, lots of stationary... The super markets gear up for this rush on demand and they allocate even more aisles for paper, pens, binders etc... sadly no organisers or planners.. I think they are missing a trick there.

I came across a useful blog post on the 'Day Timer' blog - Make a Back-to-School Plan for Family, Home and You it might give you a few ideas about the return to school and the transition in to Autumn.

So are you using your Filofax to plan the return for your children to school and make the most of the remaining days off?
