Free for All Friday No. 664 by Nan

I've seen a quote going around social media lately: Can we all agree that in 2015 not a single person got the correct answer to 'Where do you see yourself five years from now?'

Yes, 2020 was a year that most of us would not have predicted. Now that we're moving into a 'new normal', do you find that you're looking back to where you were and what you were doing one year ago?

For example, while relaxing with friends on a farm, all of us were thinking back to last July, when this very get-together was originally scheduled and had to be canceled.

When I walk into my mother's building to visit her, I inevitably remember that a year ago I couldn't enter, or that a few months ago I had to take my temperature and wear a mask.

Do you find yourself referring back to your 2020 organizer more often, to see where you were at this time during that most usual year?

As always on Friday, feel free to discus anything organizer related. Have a great weekend!

Free For All Friday No 663 by Laurie

Recently I traveled for the first time since last year. It was only to another part of the country I live in, so nothing too strenuous as far as transportation goes, but still away from home for the first time in a long time.

I have learned the hard way from past experience to always bring my Filofax with me when I travel. Every time I have traveled without it, I've wished I'd brought it with me.

Since this was a road trip, I had plenty of space to bring my big chunky A5 Filofax. Two years ago when I flew overseas I brought my A5 Heritage slimline binder with only my essential pages I needed for the trip. (The slim and lightweight Heritage has absolutely changed my life in regards to being able to carry my A5 binder with me.)

On other trips in the past, I've needed the built-up wealth of information that is in my Filofax. Times I've been without it, I've felt lost.

I also find that when I'm on vacation, my mind is able to relax and I can think about things I don't have the time and mental space to think about when I'm reacting to my day to day environment. Inevitably I want my Filofax with me to expand on these ideas and brainstorm.

Do you take your Filofax with you when you travel? Do you have any travel plans this year?

As always on Fridays, feel free to ask and/ or discuss anything ring binder organiser related!

Shopping Lists

We live on lists of one sort or another, I'm sure plenty of others do as well.

Today's shopping lists can live in your organiser or in your kitchen just as easily.

The first one is designed for A5 size (A4 that can be scaled down to A5 or A6 or B6 as you wish)

The order of the categories might look a little odd, but that is the order of the different sections in our local supermarket here in France. You can of course edit the file to suit your own needs fairly easily.

The other list is a Filofax Personal size shopping list insert and the category order is a bit more conventional! But again you can change it is you want.

Happy Shopping!

Travel Lists For Your Organiser...

After what seems to have been a life time, we are about to go on a trip for more than a night away from our house. It will involve going in to isolation for up to 10 days, so my travel list is even more important than ever.

I've put together several over the years. I have my favourite ones printed off in my A5 organiser but they have been a little under used for nearly two years. It was time to

I started off with a variation of my 'Weekend Travel Packing List'

My own version has some headings already filled in for a typical weekend. I will be review this and make some 'adjustments'

There is a personal size version available as well.

  • Weekend Travel Packing List - .docx
The reverse side has a 'Things to do' section I used this to list things to do before I leave home, but you can adapt this to your own needs easily.

If you have an even bigger trip planned, you can use one of my very first template files, it's best printed on a sheet of A4 and fold it to fit in an A5. It has a lot more headings for a variety of trips. It is based on an old 1980's Filofax insert that was available back then.

  • Travellers Check List (A4) - .doc .pdf

You can of course edit this one to suit your own needs, I'm sure you could cut it down to just be a single side of A4, or two sides of A5. It is a little OTT!

Happy and safe travels....
