This year we (finally) were able to remodel our kitchen, and have several other house projects on the go. So of course I had to create a section in my Filofax about it!
I have a page for each room in the house that we are planning to work on, and the outside of the house and property. On each page I have a list of all the things we want to do in that area, short term and longer-term. Some things have lead-up actions, like choosing and acquiring paint or other materials before actually doing the work.
I have to admit, having it all on paper in front of me felt a little overwhelming at first, but it helps to see what needs done and what we can take action on, and when. If the weather is good, we can spend some time over the weekend repairing the gate or painting the fence. If it's raining, we can work on something inside instead. Little by little, our house will be transformed!
I'm also keeping records of what materials we used: the names of the paints, the companies where we ordered our kitchen counter and tiles, and everything else we use so I can find it again later if I need.
