Printed Inserts

Printing your own inserts from downloaded files isn't always possible or easy for a lot of people in our community.

I recognise also that it can be a common source of stress amongst Filofax users at the start of each year.
  • Will I be able to buy the insert that I've been using for n years?
  • Will it still be available in the size I'm using?
  • Will the paper still be the same?
  • Will the design have been changed? (addition of QR codes...)
  • Will they have increased the prices?
And other issues no doubt.

To try and reduce this uncertainty I would like you to help us build up a directory of sources of pre-printed inserts that we can link to on our suppliers page.  This page has been revamped recently to allow for the inclusion of this diary insert information.

To make this easy to use we will at minimum the following information:
  • The name of the supplier
  • Web site link (essential for inclusion)
  • The location of the supplier (importing inserts from abroad can be quite expensive in taxes and shipping)
  • The sizes they have available. (A5, Personal, Pocket, A6, Mini etc)
  • Any comments in addition to the above.
Here is are some example entries:
  • Brand: ♾️Lotus
  • Website: https://8lotus.co/
  • Location: Texas, USA
  • Sizes: A5, Personal, Pocket, A6
  • Comments:

We welcome all contributions as the supplier or as a customer of any of the companies that you would like to recommend for inclusion in the list.

Please send in your contributions to philofaxy at gmail dot com

We will of course still supply downloadable files for those that wish to customise or just print our own files, those are not going to disappear any time soon. Find those here: Diaries 2025

Free For All Friday - No. 850 by Steve

I'm beginning to sense that Spring is edging closer and closer to us. The days are getting longer and we are having more sunny days and the daffodils are coming in to flower at last, slightly later this year, I think due to the colder weather we have been experiencing.

As we approach March, is it time to review the contents of your organiser, what do you no longer need, what needs to be updated etc.

As always on a Friday please feel free to discuss anything Filofax related.

Filofax A5 Holborn - Revisited

The Filofax Holborn has been a long term favourite of mine.

Mainly because of the unique pocket design and how you can utilise the pocket layout, especially in the inside front cover.

The last 2-3 weeks I've been using my black Holborn A5 with a clasp closure.

The main differences between the clasp and the zip versions in A5 are:

  • The clasp closure has 25 mm rings, the zip has 30mm rings;
  • The clasp closure only has a single pen loop, where as the zip has two pen loops
  • The clasp has more pocket openings than the zip, but the zip does have external pockets.
  • The clasp is slightly smaller in physical size compared to the zip.
I did a full comparison post between the Holborn models here.

The internal layout of the clasp model. The cards show where the pocket openings are.

The smaller ring size wasn't an issue for me, I was able to get all my inserts on to the rings and they are printed on 80gsm paper.

I added a second pen loop using a Filofax Flex Pen Loop with holes punched in to it.

This works for me, in normal use the pen loop insert is close to the front of my page stack, so it doesn't get in the way and I have a pencil to hand when I need it.

Have you ever owned a Filofax Holborn?
