In a post back in 2024 I shared my frustration with you that Booklet Printing had seemingly disappeared from MS Word and at the time I wasn't sure who to blame until the finger pointed at Microsoft as the culprits.
In that post I shared a variety of work arounds on how to print in booklet format again, none of them very elegant.
Well either Microsoft have realised the error of their ways or they hid it from view but booklet printing is back...

I think it's pretty poor that the printing option has been moved to 'page setup'. Page setup should be about the basic document. How you print that document is a separate issue; essentially, the processes of page composition and page imposition. These processes have been used since photolithographic and digital publishing started.
ReplyDeleteGoing back to needing to decide on the imposition at the point of page composition seems to be returning to a 'paper printing paradigm' of actual physical type blocks.
Another possibility, though it has a learning curve, is to use Montax Imposer to do the imposition for printing.
