What Size Filofax Are You Using - Poll

I was going to try and run this as a simple poll, only to discover that Google no longer includes a poll option for the blogger site like they used to!

A change of plan! Simply comment below and in the mean time I will look for an alternative way of running simple polls.

Free For All Friday - No 765 By Steve

Last weekend, we ran two Skype round-tables on Saturday and Sunday. We haven’t done this in a very long time.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that joined in on each day. Lots of different topics were covered in the discussions.

We will certainly be trying out a similar format in the future, may be not every month, but may be alternative months.

One idea I’ve had since last weekend; would people be interested in some live demonstrations during the Skype? May be on how to edit the Philofaxy inserts, or a behind the scenes view on how I assemble the web finds posts?

Let me know in the comments or by email.

Of course it is Friday, so please feel free to discuss anything organiser related. Bon weekend.

Losing your organiser

What can you do to prevent losing your organiser?

I came across this news article the other day.

Mental health worker appeals for help after confidential files lost

The person had left their organiser on the boot of their car and driven off and it fell off the car somewhere on the way to their next appointment.

The organiser contained confidential information and phone number details.

Filofax discontinued their own 'If lost' register a few years ago because of the introduction of EU privacy laws that prevented them from maintaining names and email addresses etc without peoples consent.

Apart from not travelling with an organiser what can you do?

During the Philofaxy Skype chat at the weekend we were discussing options for being able to locate your organiser if it gets lost.

One person uses 'Tile' which is a small credit card type tracker.

I use Apple Air Tags to track bags and other small items. These are slightly thicker than the Tile trackers, but they will ping their location any time they come near to an iPhone or other Apple device. The service is free and included in to the operating system.

I have put them in my suitcases for flights so I know where my case is at any time.

Has anyone else come across something similar that is simple to use and it would be easy to put inside your organiser to keep it safe?

[Update] There's a happy ending to the original story. The Filofax was found and handed back to the Mental Health Worker. Amusing how they blanked out her registration car number in the original article but not in the follow up!!
