  1. I see a lot of people using organisers as a planner. I don’t see many people using organisers as a journal. If you use an organiser as a journal, how do you implement your sections.

    1. Maybe I update start. My journal is not a daily activity; it is a place to store and recall ideas. Most of my organiser is based on information I can call on to implement marketing strategies, monitor marketing spends, and customer take-up.

If like me you used to use your A-Z for contact information.

I now use my A-Z for marketing ideas, demographic information and. At the front of the organiser, I have four sections/tabs

      1. Year Planner for an overview of my marketing plans for the year
      2. Projects
      3. Ideas, which could be something I’ve seen which could be used in my business
      4. Journal which is the A-Z I me toned earlier.

What I love about my Filofax ( Domino) is, I can read it like a book and refresh my memory. Ideas I’ve filed in my A-Z journal, for future marketing activity. It’s has taken me a while to make my Filofax work for me. My current set up seems to be working well. Ideas are jotted down, nothing gets lost anymore in computer folders or accidentally deleted. Most importantly, I feel more organised.

Recently I have started creating templates by hand on graph paper. I find this more reward than creating a spreadsheet, then printing it off. Looking back over the years, it’s utter madness, especially if it’s just for personal use and not part of a business presentation or something similar.

In the new year, I will be investing in a VDS. I was going to buy a touch me, but I think I would rather spend a bit more and have and organiser bespoke to my needs.

I remember listening to Jim Rohn. Someone asked him why his journal was so expensive. he replied “Because the information in it was so valuble”.

    2. I do not like to have multiple books or organisers at the same time. So I have a personal Filolax and on section is for journaling (a classical diary). Another is for BuJo style daily logs and there is a calendar, data base with lists and project, a waiting for for list, etc. When it gets too stuffed I move old journal pages, calendar pages and daily log pages to an archive Filofax, once the archive is full, I just start a new one (Dominos are cheap, but let‘s be honest, we all have more organisers than we need and always spare ones to be used as archives). The only drawback: You have to carry a pencil and a fountain pen - but that‘s what the second pen loop is for. One last (and obvious) trick: Put you journal section at the very end of your Filofax. This way the left side page will be on a tall stack and convenient to write on despite the rings (do it the other way around if you are left handed - duh!).

  2. I currently use a supermarket bought "journal" for personal journaling, I am currently in the second one and it took me about a year to fill; I currently journal every second day, sometimes every day as I am WFH more at the moment; I keep pages set up in my planner for business journaling, these encompass my feelings and thoughts over what is happening in the work environment, as it is not the best place to be at the moment, then recording some things is a must to ensure that advice and directions given are recorded so that there can be no misconception on what was said.

    1. Yes a great idea, Or you can look back on lost opportunity, when a competitor develops an idea that should have been implimented years ago. In my index, i add reference so I can find information easier. It’s easy for information to get burried.
