Philofaxy Meet Up - 14 August 2021

Claudie, Rose, Emma & Steve

We had an enjoyable but relaxed meet up on Saturday. Only four of us, but that didn't matter. Any number more than one is good!

I didn't get to take any photographs on the day the images above are from previous events! We were too busy talking I guess! Oh and eating food and drinking!.

The ordering system is a little different due to the restrictions. Instead of going to the counter to order your food, you use your phone to place and pay for your order and then the staff bring it to the table at the right time. We were able to secure a table upstairs in a quiet area which was good.

Being that it is approaching nearly two years since the last meet up (October 2019) there was a lot to catch up on. Not only recent events, but how we have each been coping and the changes in our lives that have happened.

We had a leisurely long lunch before we decided to go and look in Muji and The Journal Shop, the later had a short term 'pop-up' shop in Shoreditch. We jumped on a number 8 bus in New Oxford Street and that took us directly there. The traffic was a bit snarled up though!

I'm hoping that the next meet up will not be so far in to the future. Once the travel restrictions between France and UK settle down (They have even changed whilst we were in isolation) I hope to make it over for a long weekend. For a meet up and to see the family again.

Our grandson is growing and developing at quite a pace, and whilst we get lots of updates in the form of videos and photos every few days, there's no substitute for seeing them all face to face.

Thank you to everyone who supported us this weekend and in the past as well of course. In the mean time I will continue to do 'virtual meet ups' via Skype each month.

Take care everyone.

  1. Journal shop? Why did nobody tell me about this before I went down in July?
