Without giving confidential information away, do you use your filofax for storing work related information? How do you manage that information?
ReplyDeleteI have an information section at the back which contains things of a personal and work nature such as logon details, personal info and emnployment info (employee reference numbers that might be needed when searching work related matters on the company systems). In front of that section is a project section for work and personal projects as a basic record of the latest state and significant past features. I copy this in a reduced way in my portable personal filofax too.
Since the filofax is kind of a file of facts it sometimes seems to me the more fashionable or modern use as a planner takes over the file of facts function. I wonder if we could talk more about the facts record side of it more. What do you do? How do you do it? Do you do it differently in your home / work desk setup versus your travel setup? Do you use an in box first then filter and abreviate for the final record? Do you use a sectional system or an alphabetical system?
As ever this is an open query so whatever you want to comment or are free to comment on is up to you. Obviously keep confidential exactly that. Thanks
I do keep a single sheet in my personal filofax with logins in case I have to work from home, however, I have a separate filofax slimline at the office for company info, contacts etc. The company info is not organized - I shd set apart some time to organize the info but at the present, its a collection of notes made on the fly.
ReplyDeleteI remember being at the playground with the kids while watching another mom enter info from little scraps of paper into her electronic organizer and thought I shd do the same with my filofax and little scraps/post-it notes etc - just haven't taken the time. The holidays would be a great time to catch up but it never seems to happen.
Like you, I keep this info in the very back section and have redone those pages so many times (as passwords change) that I have another old slimline that only holds passwords and contacts from long ago. At work we use the google password mgr but I dont use that at home for personal logins.
