Today Friday 6 February is 'Go Red for Women' day, to raise awareness of heart disease.
It is also National Chopsticks day implements I have never really got to grips with!
What ever you are celebrating today, you can of course discuss anything Filofax related.
Hello Philofaxy Free for all Friday - although I am actually posting this comment on Sunday. I just purchased a Barclay Bank FIlofax (from an online secnd hand seller) I can't wait to see it. Despite saying I will not buy any more FIlofaxes as I have far too many, I caved and bought this one. I think it was a promo item that Barclays did in the late 1980s to encurage young people to create an account with them. I was attracted to the uniqueness of this as it is not a mainstream still sold new Filofax, and it is made in England, which these days seems rare for FIlofaxes.. I would be interested if anyone has one of these. Barclay Bank models, and has more information than I have (from first hand expereince rather than me doing internet research!). As for clebrations - Today I am celebrating the fact it is a weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello. I got one of these in the late 80s. I thought it was a pretty good gift for a student account. It's basic, with no pockets, and is faux leather with zero flatability. It is very durable though, and the rings are far superior to modern rings. They open much less than modern rings do. I keep it for nostalgic reasons, and currently have a selection of more modern binders. UK Jon.
DeleteThank you for that information! I only bought it to add to my collection, not to use, (I have so many Filofaxes) although I may be tempted to use it once it arrives and I can determine its condition. I wonder if a ban runnign a similar promotion in 2026 would get much traction? (with stationery lovers probably, but in this hightech AI everything world that could be a minority)
