Weather Fax

Do you record the current weather you have been experiencing at home or where ever you are at the time?

With an abundance of data available to us these days, I'm sure you could easily dedicate a Filofax to recording current or daily weather conditions.

To the right, that was the external temperature display on my car at the end of a journey on Wednesday. 42 C is about 107.6 F. Very hot in other words... and not the sort of temperatures we are used to here in France!

We have had increasing temperatures for over a week now. It becomes a daily ritual to check the weather forecast and try to see what we are in for.

What would you record in your 'Weather Filofax' ?

  1. For the past few years I have entered the high and low temperature of the previous day on my weekly page. It's useful to be able to look back and see if the temperatures the previous year were as we remember them.

  2. The big problem with weather apps is that they tell you the weather for today but never what it was yesterday. I haven't got a clue what 23 degrees means in practice but I do know what I wore yesterday, and if know it was 19 degrees yesterday I should probably wear lighter clothing today and if it was 27 then possibly something warmer. I have therefore found it useful to record the temperature when I go out, what I wore and whether I was too warm or too cold for later reference.

    1. I get yesterday's high and low temperatures each morning from the Weather app on my iPhone. If you have an iPhone, you can tap on the section that gives the 10-day overviews and it opens up a more detailed view. It is here that you can go back to view the previous day's results. As you point out, this can help you match how it felt to what was recorded. Especially on cloudy, rainy days, it often feels much colder than the actual recorded temperature.
