Tell us about...... 5

So if you have more than one organiser and I'm sure there aren't many people that read Philofaxy that only have one.... which is 'the one' you use most.

The one you come back to and stay using for months at a time. You might try using others, but there is one in your collection (large or small) that you love so much (it might not be perfect) that you come back and use it again and again.

Please tell us in the comments below.

  1. My pink finsbury was my favorite for years. Then the blue Malden appeared on the scene a year or so ago and that one travels everywhere now. On my desk, however,I use a spiral bound Erin Condren that suits me for that purpose.
It's really not a challenge transferring info between them since they each have different purpose.
If there was a way to attach keys to the Malden I'd use that instead of a purse. It's so buttery soft and beautiful.

    1. At the time I used a personal Malden -many years ago- I used to put my keys in the zip pocket.

    2. I've clipped my keys to the strap with a d-ring in a pinch. Not great for everyday, but it worked!

  2. I have 5 A5's and 10+ personal size planners. I've been a huge fan of Maldens lately (recently purchased three older ones - gray, crimson and black!). But on Monday, I received my first Gillio Amica. I purchased it from a seller on FB. AND I LOVE IT! Wow. The pocket configuration suits me quite well. And the leather is unlike anything I have ever carried. I've only had it 2 days, but I have a feeling it will become my "go to". My VDS Janet leather planner was this planner for me a year or so ago, but the clasp became loose and now it doesn't stay closed. It pops open in my purse. But I still love the look and feel of that planner, too.

  3. I have many planners, all of them being personal or pocket size. I use a personal and a pocket size on a daily basis but I like to rotate when I feel like using a different texture or colour.
However I've noticed that the one I often come back to is my beautiful red Dundee. I love its lively colour and its shiny texture. There is something comforting about using it.

  4. A couple years ago,I was gifted a Pillarbox Red Original and fell in love with the simplicity of it. So I bought myself one in Patent Nude, and it's still sitting in it's box unused, right along with 8 other personal size binders. To be fair, I rotate my binders, but I'm in the Red original most often and for the longest stretch of time.

  5. My pink Filofax flex for shopping lists, next size down from A5. Also my handbag EDC a Filofax Regency compact.... I don't use personal size, yet this one I love to feel, stroke, hold and admire!! She will never be sold. xx

  6. I've bought and resold countless organizers - the one that keeps calling me back is the Filofax Bloomsbury. The secretarial pocket, two pen loops and 20mm rings are a good fit for my planning style, and the squishy Nappa leather is so tactile. I love it so much I've bought the style in the other sizes, but the Personal is my go-to.

  7. The red Winchester. Its rings are too small but I love it so much, I just figure out how to make it work. The Winchester line is the iconic Filofax - truly sui generis.

  8. I always go back to my Dominos : personal, A5 and pocket.

  9. My purple Van der Spek Touch Me Senior. The leather is so beautiful I can't make myself use other planners regularly!

  10. I love my navy blue Malden Compact Zip and use it everyday as my purse and spending tracker, and I use my brown Malden personal as my on-the-go planner, I've tried others, but I keep coming back to the Malden. I love the leather and the colour. My A5's stay at home and between them all (too many) it's the brown Lockwood Zip and the pink Domino I keep coming back to. The Lockwood is so classic looking and the Domino is so fun and light, they inspire different content and styles.

  11. I love my black Malden, it is my wallet, my planner and sometimes my cell phone holder. I have tried others including wire spiral binders but I keep coming back to my Malden. I may venture into getting another color but I love the leather. And as far as caring more that one, I don't I just write in different colored pens to help keep things straight. Purple = work, green = personal, blue=church and red is for an organization I belong to.

  12. Actually the answer to this is just changing. Until last week it would have been my brown Holborn Personal, or occasionally if I needed a little extra capacity, my brown Cavendish.

    HOWEVER......

Since the arrival of my brand new and unused Lincoln Personal last weekend, I really think this is going to be my go-to binder for all occasions from now on......it really is a thing of beauty.

  13. Please consider joining my new Facebook group, "Planner Dilemma - Changing Sizes"

Sometimes one of our colleagues ideas can work well for us; I get a lot of great ideas from seeing what others use.

  14. From 1994 until 2014 I used my Coach ring planner. Black leather personal sized. It is well loved and used to say the least. In 2014 I purchased a Pillarbox Red personal and have been using it ever since. The Coach planner now holds my recipes and menu planning. The rings are Krause and still snap tight like the jaws of a crocodile. I do wish Filofax would use Krause.

  15. I've used Filofax consistently for about 20 years but that all changed when I got my first 30mm VdS standard... once I had a taste of all the extra space the 30mm provided, I knew I was done for. While I'm still trying to spend some quality time with my ex, personal Malden ,in crimson, I'm enjoying all the leathers and custom designs VdS offers in 30mm rings!

  16. I've been using my undyed personal sized VdS planner every single day since I bought it last year. I have other planners that I really love--a brown personal Holborn, a really pretty Bloomsbury, and a burgundy personal Portland--but every time I think about rotating out of the VdS, I quickly let that thought pass.

  17. I have really only Gillio in medium, pocket, mini, and A6 size. My Gillios also hold my A6 and hobonichi weeks.

My go to will always be my EDC Gillio A6 appunto (black croco) and my Gigliodoro yellow pocket compagna. Thanks for asking Steve.

  18. Mine is my personal aqua malden, but it's for work so it only rests on weekends and holidays. I then turn to my pocket malden but that might change in the nearish future.
