  1. Sheesh. I've got a Franklin Covey Vintage Aurora - one of the top end binders - on Facebook for sale at $115. It's a $170 binder new and I'm including overseas shipping in the price.

Just had someone ask me if I'll take $75 for it including shipping.

I'll leave you to speculate on a) what my (polite) reply was, and b) what I was actually thinking............

Am I the only one who's experienced this? Do you have any horror stories to share?

    1. Sadly you are not alone. I recently was asked would I sell a Gillio notebook cover. Price in EU (inc VAT) €197, they offered me €150 !! I politely turned down their proposal to buy the item. I've since sold it for the price I was originally asking!!

    2. I suspect there are more of these stories out there! I would have happily put the FC on Adspot had it been a Filofax........

    3. It doesn't have to be a Filofax to appear on Adspot. We accept any brand as long it has rings/discs

  2. David, you are funny. You got a bargain there. So, enjoy your new planner.

    1. Sorry you must have misread me. I'm selling it, not buying it. I paid WAY more than that, including the number UK Border Force seem to invent when it enters the country, before they hold it captive until you pay. That's why I don't buy from abroad any more.

But yes, I thought offering it at $115 was already a very fair price - dumbfounded to be haggled with from there......

    2. Ah, I only read your first sentence David and didn't appreciate you were selling it. Thought it was a new planner find for you.It sounds like some folks will try on a lower offer sometimes. I agree with Graham, too many grab a bargain/bargain bucket tv shows about nowadays. xxxx

  3. I blame the "Antiques Road Trip" and similar - it has become du rigueur to always haggle, for anything and everything - those if us of a more elderly persuasion find it all very strange - I would never consider paying anything other than the ticket price. I've seen people attempt it in Lidl - that got short shrift. When I owned a restaurant, people would try to haggle the menu prices down too - they got told where to get off ….

  4. How do print FC compact size paper on computer?

    1. Set up that paper size as a Custom Page size in Word and then it will appear as an option when printing.

  5. At least you got an offer. I have two nice items here on Adspot, but nobody's made an offer, or even asked about them.
