  1. As an octogenarian I probably need journals less than at any other time of life...but old habits hang around.
It is impossible to justify a major spend on stationery when a 50p diary is ok for medical appointments. Who needs justification anyway?
My passing thought is whether you have other readers/fans of post-retirement age who too get pleasure from a similar filofixation.
A final question ... How many souls work at Filofax uk? Where is their office? Is it simply an order processing function? Are all the products imported from China?

    1. Hi
Filofax UK has an office in Haywards Heath and their main office is in Dalkeith in Scotland. I visited there a few years ago.
You can see the post here:

    2. Thanks Steve. I have enjoyed trolling thru all your blogs but haven't worked my way back to 2013 yet! Great stuff.

  2. Hey there Lyndon. My thoughts are that if a new Filofax brings you a little joy in your life along with journalling, do it!! Life is too short to be judgemental on yourself! I find designing some of my own inserts a great hobby and great fun. xx

  3. Thanks Butanben! I see that Philofaxy contributor George Redgrave is another elder at 77, so there may be more of us around.

  4. I gave my 70yr old father a Filofax years ago - he has few appointments aside from hobby meets and doctors, and these are the only things he needs to write down. He has a pocket Hampstead with a week per page setup. He finds it a very sophisticated way to carry his data - he would never have bought it for himself (as you mention - you can get significantly cheaper options) but he appreciated the gift.

  5. Thanks for sharing. Because we are older we are used to writing for fun as well as reminders.

  6. I also gave my retired father a Winchester Filofax & he enjoys using it for storing passwords & gift ideas etc.
