  1. Hello! It's time for new diary inserts for the new year. I recently dicovered filofax inserts „week on two pages horizontal“. They're quite unique because horizontal means you've got to turn your filofax for writing. This way the rings won't bother you. I think these inserts exist already for a long time so I hope someone uses them and can tell me about. Are they really comfortable? Is this turning-the-filofax-for-writing-thing something you get used to or did you quit using them because it's annoying?

    1. I've not tried them myself, but you could test out the idea by drawing out a similar diary insert on plain paper and try filling them in.

We have our own version on the Diaries page:

    2. Thank you, Steve. I‘ll have a try. But I‘m interested in long term experience, too. Perhaps it makes a difference over the long run…

    3. I’ve used horizontal inserts for finances etc. for a long time, although not diary ones. That orientation feels very natural in use. Turning the Filofax to write happens without thinking. I guess the only thing to consider with a diary would be whether that landscape format suits the entries you tend to make - if they are quite long then it’s probably perfect. If they are normally just a couple of words then maybe the normal portrait format would still be better.

  2. Hello Steve, Klaus and Gmax i've been using the personal monthly, weekly, and finance horizontal layout since 2015. I'm right-hand dominant and it's been great. The rings are not a problem for me. I'm currently using these inserts for 2024. Plus when I turn my FF it provides additional privacy. If your handwriting is big and you wish to stay within the hourly lines use a .5 fine or smaller pen. I think this format has maximized its pages as not a lot of additional text is added. Enjoy! -Jessie, Pittsburgh, U.S.
