  1. I think this may be my first ever 'starter' post to FFAT!

My A5 Finsbury has given up the ghost - having had an intermittent issue for a few weeks the rings are now refusing to close altogether, leaving a gap of around 1/8" (sorry I'm an imperial man).

So I need a new BLACK ring binder to carry my TimeSystem inserts - no other colour will do.

MY question is in two parts:-

    1. Any suggestions for a black A5 binder with 30mm rings, please? Filofax brand only, I'm not going to pay £500 for a VdS or a Gillio. I am, however, prepared to buy new from Filofax, although I would prefer a VGC older model from the days of better manufacturing standards. This one has lasted many years and it's the first time I've actually worn out a binder through use alone!

    2. Does anyone know whether all Finsbury A5 binders have 30mm rings? Is there any variation in ring size through the 'life' of the Finsbury? I wouldn't want to buy one (new or otherwise) and find it has 25mm rings, because the TS insert pack as used by me requires 30mm.

Many thanks in advance for your time and expertise!

    2. It seems from a bit of research that the Finsbury has been 30mm throughout it's now considerable lifespan. I'm just wary of buying new because if the decline in quality of materials
