  1. Hello! I have a question about the Domino Filofax. I would love to add a purple domino to my collection, and the choices seem to be ultra violet or violet, which I think ultra violet is a shade more blue?
But then I looked online, and saw someone who seemed to have a lighter colour purple domino and she said it was Lavender colour. But I can't find any more information about this colour or where to get hold of one? f anyone knows anything about the colours I would be very greateful in knowing!

    1. Hi, unfortunately the lavender colour Domino has been discontinued by Filofax. However, you might be able to pick one up on eBay or you could put a wanted ad on the Philofaxy Adspot page. There are also some Filofax sale/swap Facebook groups where you might be able to get one. Happy hunting!

  2. Hello I have just discovered the Filofax world in January. Since then I have bought a used purple Finsbury off Ebay. It was well used and a bit scrubby. Then yesterday I bought a pink Finsbury at Staples. I noticed there were other colors on the box but when I went to the Filofax UK site the Finsbury only comes in 2 colors - purple and black. So my question is how many colors does the Finsbury come in? Is pink a one off color? Did I get something special? Does it come in green? I have seen post for an Aqua Finsbury. Could that be the green one that is pictured on the box?

Sorry for so many questions. I hope that is okay. I am an American living in the UK - which is why I spell color the way I do. :)

    1. I'm sure a Finsbury Fan will come on with a definitive list but, in brief, this model has been produced in nearly all the sizes (mini, pocket, compact, personal, A5 and A4 etc,) and in a multitude of colours over the years. Certainly in the various sizes (not every size in every colour) I remember seeing red, grey, aqua, blue, purple, tangerine raspberry, pink, black, yellow, navy and emerald green. Filofax tend to order a batch in a certain colour from their Chinese manufacturer and then switch to a different colour for the next batch. That's why purple and black are currently listed, whereas previous colours may still be found elsewhere.

    2. Tim summed it up well. I have Finsbury binders in purple (personal and A5), emerald green (A5), pink (personal), aqua (personal) and brown (slimline), all of which are discontinued. You can still find some of the discontinued colors on ebay, or at retailers who have old stock. (I'm also an American living in the UK!) :)

    3. Wow thanks so much for the information. I didn't realize there were so many colors.

  3. According to a study, test subjects view persons using electronic calendars as more authoritative than those using paper: http://mashable.com/2014/04/25/gadgets-work-impression/

    1. I notice the test's comparison was against "an old-fashioned calendar" - doesn't specify what sort, but we can hope that had it been a Filofax the results would have been reversed!

  4. I began using a Filofax a couple of months ago to get myself together after the death of my daughter. It has helped tremendously. I have purchased 2 Originals(green and nude patent) in personal size, 1 Malden(aqua) in personal size, and a fluro pink Original A5. I really like the idea of changing out wkly or biwkly- color seems to help my depression. What do most people do insert wise? Do you use one set and trade them out each time or keep a set in each to travel between?

    1. Nicole I'm so very sorry about your daughter.

If you are switching binders often, it will be much easier to keep the same inserts and switch them to the new binder, otherwise you'll be re-copying things a lot and are likely to miss things.

  5. Perhaps this isn't the most unbiased places to ask, but... how do I choose between my A5 Filofax and my A5 Staples Arc as my daily planner? They both have different pros and cons, and I love them both equally...

    1. It might depend on how often you add/ remove/ switch around pages. The tabbed slots on the Arc pages wear out pretty quickly, causing pages to fall out. A ring binder holds the pages more securely. But if you'll be leaving the pages in, the Arc gives you a bigger page size/ slimmer book. Tough decision!
