  1. In praise of analog.

Interrupted morning today due to the power going off at the office. Apparently someone has driven a high sided vehicle into the overhead cables in a nearby village and knocked out the power to 700 homes (and our office, it appears).

Due to having my diary plus all my task schedules securely in my Finsbury, we were able to move back home and carry on almost as if nothing had happened. Yes, we need power for our PCs, laptops etc., but at least we can identify what can be done manually and get on with it (plus the outage didn't reach the house so we can carry on working there).

  2. Was there ever a Winchester that did not have a model designation such as "4CLF" or the like? I have one on its way to me and everything about it screams Winchester but It just says: Line 1: Filofax, Line 2: Made in England, Line 3: Real Calf. I know it may be a little too late now but I just want to know for future reference. Thank you.

    1. Yes - the model designation was omitted towards the end of the period they were produced.

  4. Am I right in thinking the "4" refers to the number of pockets? (Mark)

    1. Yes that’s right Mark.
Early model Winchesters had 5 and were designated 5CLF.

  5. Hi, does anyone know why Filofax notebooks have been out of stock for so long? Are they going to be discontinued? Thanks!! Lulla.
