Free For All Friday No 506 by Laurie

As I've said many times, one of the things I love most about using a Filofax is the flexibility of having whatever pages I need at the moment, and switching them out the instant I need to change them instead of having to wait until the end of the year to change my planner.

My most recent example: A few months ago I added monthly Expenses pages in my Finances tabbed section. I intended to use these pages to track unexpected or out of the ordinary expenses that month, to get a realistic idea of where my money goes. I wouldn't put things on these pages like groceries or utilities payments (because I track regular monthly expenses already). These pages were for things like new tires on my car, new hiking boots, or printer ink.

To be honest I didn't have high hopes for my ability to stay with this. Writing in expenses is a hassle and I found it hard to keep up with. After a couple of months I abandoned these pages and decided to just check my expenses online more often.

It was no big deal to remove the pages from my binder, and I'm not stuck with unused pages for the rest of the year! Joy!

(And for those of you who are interested, I'm still using my Upcoming Bills pages I described here. In fact those are working so well for me I've already printed them through 2020 to capture upcoming bills as I find out about them.)

Which pages have you recently added or removed from your Filofax?

And as always on Fridays, feel free to ask and/ or discuss anything ring binder organizer related!

  1. Per my other recent post about my significantly expanded job role (interim assignment at another location on top of current location...), adding lots of pages to capture the myriad of projects I now need to stay on top of....which is on top of the myriad of projects I already needed to stay on top of....
